Sounds great. While I block a few ranges from getting to my websites I have yet to find a reliable way to do this for my home computer and still be able to know that this is why.com isnt working. The ablitity to block some (most!) spam and garbage sites would be great but with no way to easily tell weather a site is down or im blocking it kinda cramps my style.
I think this would be more akin to prepaid phone cards. You know the ones the clerk has to swipe then type in the code before the card is actually activated? Instead of cracking disc checks and serial numbers crackers would just crack the activation method making the whole thing a waste of time. What I wanna to see is an 'Ask Slashdot' on how to stop (or even slow) videogame piracy. I think short of MMO's there is no one method that will thwart pirates.
Make sure you talk about this with your CO. Don't go to the media or any place that make make this and your name / rank location public without prior approval. afaik you need to have prior approval before even making so much as a message board post.
New Republican party, an intolerant, far right party, dominated by evangelicals. A party pandering to the rich and manipulating a bunch of not so bright middle class supporters in to voting for them using abortion, homophobia and fear, manipulating not to bright middle class people in to voting for a party that is completely screwing them economically. Let's hope its finally over. Now we just have to worry about all the stupidity the Democrats will perpetrate when they are in control.
You know I'd have to say that I only agree with this arguement to a certain degree. It would be one thing if the book was called something like, "The magicians guide to non-muggle words" but instead he used Harry Potter as a title which I think is the real issue at hand. Of course using Harry Potter will sell more books, but in all honesty he mislead anybody who bought the book, and he undermined J.K Rowling. By writing, and titleing a book after one by another author, the main assumption would be that there was an agreement between the two. In this case no communication like this happened. That is the issue, and based on the laws of publishing he should give her the royalties that she should have received in the first place.
Also, it is true that authors commonly use eachother's idea's, but comparing two books like Ender's Game and Harry Potter is like comparing apples to oranges. The books are similar idea's but completely different stories.

I dont know about you but I never had to fight my way out of a crazied insane asylum, or murder people at the bequest of a mad director.
To rockstar I say sell the game however you can and if the people you are trying to appeal to actually buy it you could change the way developers think when it comes to AO ratings. if that fails lets hope you get a "M" on GTA4.
A hurt locker is just that. a locker where you keep hurt. hence it would stink to be in that locker... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8555318.stm
This, and trusting my data to another company is scary as hell.

They have something to prove to the FCC. I for one welcome our low cost wide range broadband overlords.
