    Well, in a MMORPG, a good item (like say, the Sword of Pwning) might be really useful for your character, when your clan is fighting someone else. However, it might take a 10 hr quest to get the Sword of Pwning, and this busy first-worlder has a high paying job, so that can't skip that. So you buy the sword for real cash, because you get enjoyment out of the sword, just like you benefit from your 500Watt sterio that was probably built by some other third-worlder.

    Well, you could thow in a $120 Sempron now, and then a year or so in the future go with a Athlon64 3700, which is a pretty big speed boost, and that chip is already out.

    Get Media Player Classic from sourceforge. It is a near clone of the WMP 6.x interface, but can play just about anything.

    This issue doesn't seem to be a big deal, for the privacy issue - the authorities did have to go to a judge and get a warrant first, just like they would for a phone tap or for an in house search.
