Not sure how they think they can use it on emails, since all it'd take is some lite encryption to stop em. Another waste of money and time, while monitoring net-citizens that shouldn't be. When's the revolution going to happen? Cause at this rate, that's what going to have to happen to get back freedom.

  5. Career Paths? on Organizational Practices of an IT Department? · · Score: 0

Career path's IMHO are the responsiblilty of the Human Resources department (AKA People Development). IT shoudl worry about nothing more than where the company needs to be as far as technology goes, and about keeping the current solutions in place running. Why should the IT manager have to worry about where his employee's are going to end up in five years? That's HR's headache.

  6. Bull. on IT Departments Are A Security Risk · · Score: 0

    Complete bull ****.

If there was no IT department, how the hell would the company run? Buy support from outside companies? I think not, since on average (at least here) support companys charge about $95 a hour and 90% of the techs the send out don't know jack. I have lost count how many times i have had to fix stuff "again" after they leave, simply because they are too lazy to figure out the whole problem, or they don't know how to run/admin/whatever our systems. Since we created our IT department spending has been reduced alot, service and security both have gone up. Also the amount of down time our employee's suffer has droped dramatically.

Then again, i live/work in a fairly small city, so our local support companies don't have much to choose from for employee's since most people that know what they are talking about ether work for a company in the IT department, or move their ass to a better place :-)

That being the case, I don't see why you couldn't use biodiesel or methanol/ethanol to fuel a jet engine. There might be issues with the power curve for some models, but that likely just means changing the design parameters for future aircraft.,

Correct me if i am wrong, but doesn't biodiesel gel up at low temps? Kinda like normal diesel, but worse. So i doubt that they could run the ~new~ concorde safly at the alitudes that they need to be at on biodiesel.

Yeah, i admit that the gun laws up here are kinda stupid. But if your gun got stolen, and you report it, atleast when somebody uses it they know that your gun was stolen and you don't have to go to jail for no reason. And registering my guns wasn't that bad. Atleast there are less people killed in canada by guns than in the US. For that i am thankful. In Canada you don't need to lock your doors in most mid sized cities, or go around wondering if that guy walking behind you is going to rob you or shoot you.

All in all, i support the Liberials and what they have done for canada, all though i am still pissed about the sponsorship scandle.
