I wonder...Could it be another case like we've see in the past where a "think tank" gets funding to do research and the later everyone finds out that the company/companies that funded the study are the one that the data showed to be better that all the rest. I wonder where secunia gets there funding for this new study. I tryed looking around on their webpage, but i didn't find the info i was looking for anywhere.
Microsoft is sure taking a beating. Seems to me that their more afraid then their letting on. I mean take a look at all the patents that have tooken out in the last while. Bill and his army of unholy ghouls are reaching for a branch to hold onto in my opinon. Just my thought.
That's right folks. Another one for the band wagon. It's seeming more and more like companies don't think they can make any money without suing sombody for stealing their source code. Who all here thinks that the next company that doesn't have a realistic claim should have their ceo's or who ever had the thought to start the legal battle cained and pissed on. Then set a flame. I am getting sick of hearing about this shit. Arn't you guys?
Why do goverenments make laws against things that in reality ether don't affect them, or they can't really control. For instants, the laws against mp3 trade etc... now this... The way things are headed, soon it'll be illegal to post your political opinion on the net if it says somthing that the party in power doesn't like. People have to realize that the more we use the internet the more and more other people are going to know more about our personal lives. I for one, don't really care if sombody knows what i write in my emails...or if i do, there are tools on the net to encript your messages. I am tired of hearing about how people walk around getting influenced by what the media/goverenment says....IT'S TIME TO MAKE YOUR OWN CONCLUTIONS ABOUT THE ISSUES...information is power. Arm yourself.
I wonder when they are going to realize nobody is going to stop downloading. I know i wouldn't. Is anybody else getting really sick of them and the negative news that they seem to genereate. It seems like every time i come back from the weekend there's another story about them sueing another chunk of people. Anyways, that's just my two cents.
Heh, reminds me of somthing that just happens to one of my friends customers (he's there IT support). The ISP blocked all incoming and outgoing trafic from there ip because one or several of there computers where infected. This was fine save for the part where they didn't call the office and tell them that. When they called my buddies and got him to come down and he called the ISP about it...they where like "Oh, yeah i guess we should have called you about that". Silly ISP...Businesses are for orginized people....heh
Should not be censored. people should just get used to the fact that everyone has there own little twisted corner of the internet. If you don't wan tto see that kind of stuff, then don't look at it. And as for parents not liking the fact of their kids seeing stuff that they don't want them to see...then ether teach them how to surf correctly, or invest in a cyber nanny. Anyways, if the kid really wants to see somthing that there parents don't want them to see, they'll (the kids) will find a way to see it. I know i did.
I agree that priated versions should be able to update. Most windows "legit" non powers users don't update enough as is, unless theve got the update that allows their computer to grab updates automagically. Besides, you can have all the updates that you want for a pirated version, you just have to know what your doing....microsoft should just get rid of that stupid product activation...the internet would be alot safer for all of us.

Just because a company says there a "independant research company" doesn't mean that it's so. Also, what hardware was this tested on? for all we know, the windows boxes could have been the lastest and crazyest tech out there, while the linux boxes could have been running on some pile of shit 486.
