That's true. It's rare for a spinoff to work well, but there are some excellent examples. "Frasier" was never my favorite show, but it was a huge success that won a lot of awards. I can't think of any other examples of good spinoffs, but I can think of a few bad spinoffs.
I can think of two older ones from the same show. Laverne and Shirley, and Mork and Mindy. They were both spinoffs of Happy Days.
I think you are taking the company as a whole, if you would have read my full post you would have realized that what I was suggesting is that when you have a multifaceted as Sony is, groups within the company can be doing one thing, as other parts of the company may have no idea what is being done.
Do I think what they did is wrong, yes without a doubt, do I hate the company as a whole, no.
Whatever, you are entitled to you own opinion.
I really find it hard to understand why everyone hates Sony. Yes they did have the rootkit scandal that was not right at all. Though, how many times in your own company have you not agreed with how it handles things. I am in a software company, and they try things that are questionable at times. Really, different sides of the company, may not even know what the other sides are doing (that is wrong too, but when you are a peon, you are just glad to be working). I am not at all saying this is right, but it happens. Companies make mistakes, they learn from them (sometimes not good enough). I just find it hard to hate a company unless what they do is morally objectionable. I guess some could argue that what Sony did was, but I am more on the side of human pain and suffering, like sweat shops or things of that manner. Let us not forget that Toshiba has had scandals arise in the past, I seem to recall something back in th e70s related to selling technology to the USSR...
There must be a time limit, ok it has been 30 years, I no longer have to hate them.:)
Just my thoughts, I am sure there will be many that will disagree.
That is being marked insightful.. How is this so? Where are the facts, how is he proving his claim? "It just sucks a whole lot" that is nothing more than an empty comment.
That is always the opinion of a particular time period. I remember playing the first Leaderboard on the C64 and people would talk about how realistic it is. During that time, I guess that was.
You have to realize, that though they do get a that many attacks per month, they have the money to dump into network security to sure up what the issue are. Not just the software side, but the actual people able to monitor all those incoming attacks. Plus the systems they (hackers)are trying to attack/hack are ones they MS programmed. Who other then MS should know their software. They programmed it, they should be able to protect it. If there are issues, throw more bodies, and money into it so that it gets fixed. Does that help all the other companies that use MS products, I would guess eventually, but most companies don't have the resources, or the money to spend that MS has. Something more impressive would be a solution they sold to someone, that has one IT person on staff, they receive 100k of attacks per month, and they run without issue.
I have always wondered why execs make claims like this?? Hey this is so great nothing will ever break it, I dare you to try. Really, do they think it will be virus proof, or is it just better? Just makes me wonder?
What prompted you to accept a position at Microsoft knowing their past dealings with the Open Source OS, or what told you that taking this position was not a waste of time?
Well that asks the question about other things that people own. Can one get sued for taking a picture of someone else's property without their permission? The things people sue for these days just seems to become more and more crazy.
You sometimes wonder if this is not on purpose, some type of plan so that you will purchase their credit protection plan. Of course they would open themselves up for an endless number of lawsuits, but none the less it sucks
I agree, I would like some fill between III and IV, there is a lot of time that passes between the two. I would even go for an animated series like Clone Wars. It was a good filler.
I want to know how the Jedi never get discovered, just what Ben, and Yoda do during all that time (Yeah, I know, talk to the dead), but I would like more. Maybe what happens when Luke & Leih are young, what Jedi traits they might display.
I would also like to see the Empire taking control of the universe. I would like to see Darth Vader's powers grow. I just wanted more!

If I could be a bum like Brando I would take it. Great Movie (On the Waterfront)
Man, not only do the illegals have to deal with never speaking the language when they boat over, but now they will have the deal with not being able to use the computers that are here either.
I am surprised he even agreed to do a guest spot seeing he bashed the direction the new series was going to follow( Like a female Starbuck/Boomer). It will be interesting to see his comments after he does his part.
Sounds to me like a lead in to the next Batman movie.

More like sperm.

Mommy, Mommy, can I borrow your finger tonight, I want to watch all my new movies.

We are in for treat.
I have never been that lucky to have that many CD players. I just have 30 transitior radios. My problem is finding 30 different radio stations.
This seems like a sure fire way to really get a hang over.

If they spent as much time on product development as they do researching lawsuits, they might be a company that has quality products.
