Have you even experienced the death of a close friend or relative? The overpowering shock is far greater than any ability to celebrate their life. Perhaps a few years down the line... but not straight away. I don't think anyone could.
I hate to be a killjoy, but I always thought a brownian motion was what happened in your pants after you've had too much to drink and had a sudden scare...
I thought we were bad in the UK. With LLU you can get up to 8Mb/s, otherwise you're on 2Mb/s, with that hopefully increasing to 8 next year.
However, all distance limits have been removed so as long as you pass a line test you're fine. My router reports a loop distance of 13km, and we sustain 2Mbit with no problems whatsoever.
the highest temperature ever recorded on Earth (discounting the craters of erupting volcanoes and such, obviously) is 136 Fahrenheit, which, according to Google, is 57.8 degree Celsius, and was measured at Al' Aziziyah, Libya in September of 1922),
Kind of a kick in the teeth for the global warming doomsayers, isn't?
The security fixes were automatically installed on my computer two days ago - there would be very few worms or viruses if people installed security updates.
I can't see there being a massive improvement on what we have now - Bochs has been tweaked to high heaven for the Pocket PC, and is exceedingly sluggish even on 624MHz beasts with massive quantities of RAM available.
This may, of course, be due to the fact that the PPC really struggles with floating point operations, but I don't know enough about the PSP to comment on that.

So, in other words, it has NO ability to handle hardware? I mean, Knoppix won't even boot on my Thinkpad T40, and IBM do apparently design them to be Linux friendly.
At least with Windows, installing a driver is for the most part mindlessly simple - I've never even tried to install a driver on Linux, but looking at the instructions it's something that's going to give me one hell of a headache when I do need to do it.
Or the UK. We have thousands of speed cameras but no traffic police. Last year, I had 3 points added to my license and a 60 pound fine for doing 34mph in a 30 zone.
Interestingly, this won't work under XP SP2 (or at least not on my computer.)
First of all, Microsoft Antispyware throws a real hissy fit if I try to do as described in the parent, and if I disable it, it still won't install as a screensaver.
What the hell is a lbf? Is North America really so backwards and stubborn they refuse to use units that the rest of the world is perfectly happy with.
PS. Miles don't count. I can think in miles. I can't think in pounds, and I especially can't think in pound-feet, which is what this author expects me to do.
It's throwing a strop on my IBM Thinkpad T40, running the stock XP install with SP2 applied. Says it's not activated, and to click a link that doesn't exist.
I'm sure I probably could activate it by fiddling in the registry, but my personal intention is to throw a strop at IBM and Microsoft, and see if I can get them to send out a copy of XP that will verify.
As opposed to a fake demo video? ;)

I can only remember it from the First Contact DVD. I hated TNG, but the movies were good. ;-)
No, it'll be four, seven, alpha, tango.

I think he's just bitter. Being second, and all... ;-)
In that case, you obviously haven't tried the one in Visual Studio 2005. It's like seeing God. Only through your keyboard...
Oops. Well, I thought FireFox renders it badly, but IE makes me want to vomit.
I just visited the Acid2 test page in the Internet Explorer 7 beta, and it looks exactly the same as it does in FireFox. Am I doing something wrong?
My boss saw this over my shoulder and is almost (but not quite) possibly thinking about maybe trialling Linux on his home machine...
To use the time-honoured method of finding out government secrets, you read about them in tomorrow's newspaper...

No, this is after pushing the reset button on the back, or after removing the battery.
Coming out of suspend is instant.
"Zaurus v3.10 boots in about 65 seconds, which is a bit slower than the OpenZaurus/Opie ROM variant which loads in about 50-55 seconds."
On the other hand, the Pocket PC OS boots from scratch in under six seconds.

No, you hook in two phone lines, and fax the screen output to your desk...
If you own a Pocket PC, the popular Amiga emulator UAE was ported some time ago.
