  1. Re:Wrong on both counts? on Equal Time For Creationism · · Score: 2, Interesting

Ok, I'm going to get modded down for this, but here it goes....

We as a race of humans have over-time developed a car. It started with the Model T (or something from that era) and now we have our modern cars. Is it evelution? YES. Is it ID? YES. Although in this country (and most modern thinking coultures) the beleif of a spiritual realm is something left to the mystics, however, I have spoken to eye-witness accounts of some very physical elements of the spiritual that cannot be explained scientifically. (for instance, a missionary to tribal peoples in south america told of an account that could only be explained by the spirit realm... He went to a hut in wich there was a witch-doctor and a woman bent over in pain. She had what looked like 6-8inch spikes coming out of her back. No, these were not implanted, they were more like part of her bone structure. He stated that he prayed for her and in the name of Jesus, cast the demon out and her back became normal again.) It is stuff like this that makes me come to this conclusion. When we are told that we only 5 senses and leave the 6th unused, it becomes weak and unusable or barely usable and so we do not include this in the scienific realm because we don't use this part of ourselves and have concluded that it does not exist because our other sences say so.

So, go to a tribal person and say that any gods do not exist and he will call you a fool (since he sees the spiritual realm with his physical eyes way too often.

To take this to a way that the five sences can understand, if a person who is blind from conception (eyes never developed at all), how could he/she even understand what color is? You could describe it and compare it, but he will never understand what blue really is.

Ok... yes I am a christian. However ID does not mean non-scientific.

  3. Re:Evolution is intelligent design on The Pseudoscience of Intelligent Design · · Score: 1

IANAS, however, although I do believe in ID, however , I believe ID and evolution to be incomplete. I post a question to ID, GOD, who is the creator did not state that the earth is 6k years old. Gen 1:1 only states that 'in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth'. However, this is seperate from what was done on the first day. I believe it is possible for both evolution and ID to be correct. For the evolutionists, I pose the question of the human factor. Why are we so absolutely different from even the most "closely" related animal (oragitang?). Where are the links? If this is a gradual process, there should be thousands if not millions of fossils showing the process, not these once and a blue-moon finds of things that 'might' be related. I believe that it is a combo of both creation and evolution. This would actually fit both and make the process more understandable especially when dealing w/ the age of the earth. This would also explain the missing links (since there really is no links to speak of) and would scientifically satisfy (if the facts support, which it might) both sides. Just my thoughts....

Pardon me, but I beg to differ. If one watches the LOTR trilogy, it was jammed pack full of CGI. The only way one knows if it is CGI or not is if you watch the making of the film, other-wise, there is no way to tell. That is so far as sets goes. As far a creatures like the nasgull, they looked strikingly real and if it weren't for the fact that they are fantasy, one cannot tell if it was CG or not. -Just my 2 cents...

Actually, there was no episode (that I can remember) that used the deflector dish to destroy the borg ship. However, in the book Vendetta (which takes from the planet destroyer episode "Doomsday Weapon"), another ship uses it deflector dish and does damage the Borg vessel (although I don't remember if it destroys it or not). It's an older ST:TNG book, but a great story! I think it would have been a great ST:First Contact replacement. -Just my 2cents..

Actually, I also bought a veiwsonic 19in monitor from BestBuy. It was an out of box monitor and they no longer have that model. I have had no problems with the monitor or anything else I've bought there. Please remember that BB will try to work with you. I applaud their Cust Serv. Also, Circuit City is a very good place to go. Especially if you are price comparing. They will meet the price (not rebate price) and take 10% off. That's my 2cents.
