    Good lord go educate yourself. The majority of our knowledge about space comes from sending probes into space. Human exploration was a PR stunt. It was meant to divert people's attention away from the cold way and the fact we we were trying to weaponize space.

    You can stop dick riding human exploration. Not one scientist supports the preposition that human space exploration has any scientific value. Not too mention you overlook the ethical implications about sending people into space - since it will be a one way flight.

    A scientist you are not. We do not fan boys like you. We need serious minded individuals.

The technological advances were gained in developing probes and rockets that can send probes into space. Look at the latest Juno probe. Look at the technological advances made there!

    I blame journalists pushing string theory to heights it did not warrant. It became the Kim Kardashian of physics theories, famous for being famous with no substance.

    So NPR you are not helping. Popularity does not indicate substance.

    You've never maintained a car so it's obvious you don't know what you are talking about. How much are you paying annually in repair costs from years 6-10? Those costs do not amount to the yearly payments of a new car. In fact if you buy a "good" car, then you should have a minimum repairs necessary for a car for the first 10 years. Maintenance costs are even less. There are only certain maintenance you need to perform at certain mileage and those DO NOT amount to the cost of yearly payments on a car.

    If you are perpetually making car payments you are not saving money.

    The economic down turn started with Clinton. Bush didn't have time to cause the recession in 2001. His biggest flub was the Iraq War and supplemental spending bills.
