It was a sop to pacify Steven Fielding. He's gone, the filter now lacks a budget...
With luck, the AG's will put a decent rating system in place for games.
With luck, the current government will survive long enough to put enough of the NBN in place that the dogs on the other side won't be able to dismantle it...
I tell him then that every library should be closed then because they violate copyrights as well.
When someone checks out a book, that author isn't getting any money from it. And they have records and movies you can check out, why not close them for the producers of said records, books and movies not making any money?
I don't think loaning someone a book or CD was ever a copyright violation, and you'd be welcome to do it too. Though if they'd copied them and given away the copies, that would've been a different story.
That really doesn't seem like a big distinction to us, but to most it is.
Unless the book is in electronic format. Then a different set of rules seem to apply.
Which leaves aside the legality of renewing copyrights. It's awfully murky morally, just because Disney etc 'sanitise' it with paying off governments, doesn't make it right.
Fortunately, the hardware hacking community has worked toward making the name its own again, ensuring that the concept of a hacker as a knowledgeable, creative person who works with complex computer technology at least somewhat lurks in the minds of the educated public.
I empathise with your desire not to have cords slopping around, but if you're going to hack some out of the middle and join, it's probably going to be easier, and safer, to buy cable, plug, socket, and make it exactly the length you want (and probably use side entry plugs and sockets)
You only need to do that if the rate of change is small enough that the decimals aren't flickering like hundreths of seconds. I was thinking of a bar showing progress with the percent number embedded in it.
I would have been happy with % progress and an hourglass. That gives me enough info to decide by the rate the percentage is changing that i should:
1 - wait
or
2 - get a coffee
or
3 - cancel, as something's gone wrong
I've bought 2 - one a POS (about 150 AUD) which is destined to end up as a custom hardware controller, the other the Samsung 10.1 3G which I use as a tablet - $869 AUD. Its good for reading, email, browsing (mostly reading news) acts as a tether point, alarm clock / radio. I'm happy with the price point.

Yup, we're the lucky country.
Wish I could charge them for putting my tax return in.
That's kind of funny, I've seen Warcraft malware sites on Google paid advertising right up the top.

But isn't open source equivalent to publishing, which effectively prevents patenting? IANAPL
A placebo transmitter? Pity you can't receive the output from them on placebo receivers, or you could save a lot of power.
He's an AC, you need to make allowances for them. Like the ones you make for your easily bewildered uncle.
I see what you did there.
What, you want them to fail the von Neumann test as well as the Turing? That's cold.
Because technology makes it economically feasible, that's a reason to oppose it?
If the companies that owned them are defunct, who owns the copyright? Does it cease to exist?

Now to find us some educated public!
I thought the untied look was 'in' (along with tripping over them and breaking your nose, but if you want to be a slave to fashion, go right ahead)
Why would they not do it directly, do you suppose? It isn't that 'convenient'
Nice to see your reasoning, too.
Google promises with sweetness and honey...
So I made my profile a honeypot.

People will look at this day and mark it as one of the starting points that mark the fall of the republic.
Doesn't explain why he wants to be chairman. I'd want to bail completely if I 'wasn't going to be ok' like he is.
But are its ratio's 1:4:9? (gets out vernier calipers)
kill the handle. The app will hate you for it, but it will let you overwrite.
