I would meet GP in the middle with the fact that some guns are clearly designed towards their being aimed at people (or people shaped targets), as they have little value as game rifles (i.e. AK47, AR15/M16, etc.) That said, however, the ultimate decision to shoot a person (with very rare and unfortunate exceptions) lies with another person. -nB
ha ha ha... I was thinking more along the lines of a nice open "porn" folder in "My Pictures" (because if you have linux they won't likely be able to search, and instead just confiscate your notebook). In said folder I'll place pictures of all the different dismembered electronics bits (Geek Porn), and one rick roll video.
While I'm sure this will make my travel times longer, I also think it will be worth it:-)
Last windows system I installed nekkid was unconnected to the net until I had the latest rollups installed. Ironically I DL'd these with a Linux machine...
I have a single D type flip flop somewhere in my collection built to Voyager type specs. It uses a whole 4x4" PCB and has magnetic core memories, transistors, and Ge diodes... -nB
it's 3 oz of liquid. Some dude brought on all the components to make gunpowder... Also, thermite when broken into it's components is not at all interesting (rust, aluminum). Would not take much to make things interesting. go to the bathroom, mix in sink or toilet, light.
I don't know about you, but I have no less than 6 meg of cache. Two of my machines have 12 meg cache. (speaking of which, since I have more L3 cache than the system requirements for Win95 how would I go about running Win95 completely out of L3...) -nB
That's been the case for me as well. Seagate replaces drives based on DOM if you don't have the receipt. No hassle at all. I've only had two drives fail on me, one 250Gig and one 300 Gig. My 1TB+ drives are still humming along (as are my WDs). -nB
development would be vastly cheaper as well, since prototype parts could also be replicated. Complex components that currently cost a mint to produce would be cheap. Yeah there would be brainpower costs, and that would be non-trivial, but the materials cost would be trivial, thus a new Veyron design, for example, would likely cost half as much in R&D costs. That would likely be at the price point for someone to be willing to pay for a bespoke design just for them. -nB
My Phillips DVD player has a nice 'feature'.Once the previews start press 'stop','stop','play', all about 500mS apart. The main title starts immediately.
Intentionally taking out of context and twisting your words here:
Once again...3% of the world's population, 25% of its prison inmates. Do you not understand this? Do you really think the US is a nation of felons?
Well since the numbers seem to bear that out, yes. Obviously since you are one too I will believe what you say about that and take it as truth;)
though I always thought Australia was the nation of felons...
Back in reality, yes our system is fscked up like no other. I really wish for three things: 1) put back the support structure (mental health, training, etc.) that we used to have in prisons before privatization. 2) put the prison system back under federal control (not outsourced to private companies) 3) a pony.
No doubt there is still *lots* to do before we see purely commercial launches of GTO or even LEO orbit. And absolutely they are riding on the backs of NASA et.al. I still think it's awesome, and I also think my kids will have ~$100K less in their inheritance by the time I kick the bucket...
Or seeing as I love JPMorganChase so much, maybe I'll finance several flights through them just before I kick the bucket and give my kids the cash up front for their inheritance.:) -nB
No, this is but a very tiny step toward real, commercial spaceflight. And the step from this to real commercial space flight is much much larger.
I think you are not giving them enough credit. While this may be a small step for a space flight, it is a giant leap for non governmental funded commercial space flight. (thanks Neil)
which, to come full circle, they likely would not have done without the assurance that they would not lose money trying to. Thus NASA still is the source for all this neat stuff. And while it was made by an NGO, it was made under contract to a GO, thus is PD. -nB
oh snap. I would be game (with the addition of a human flying squirrel suit I imagine I may be able to cover quite some distance. Dunno about how much O2 I'd have to carry though...
Mythbusters already did this;) (Episode 88: http://mythbustersresults.com/episode88) Even with a propane torch they couldn't keep it lit. Makes excellent lamp oil though.
you were using BD and it tripled your maintenance costs? Either I call BS or you were using common rail injection systems over 16KPsi, which are specifically *not* compatible with BD above 5%. If your injection system runs at a lower pressure then your maintenance costs should have gone down, as BD is an awesome solvent and tends to clean things out quite well. There will be a spike in maintenance on older engines as the gunk cleans out (mostly fuel filters and earlier oil changes) but once you're past the hump, cost should fall quite nicely.
That or you used rubber hoses... Viton all the way if using BD, much like if converting a gas engine to E85 or higher, exhaust and fuel delivery components have to be changed out.

so that those in power look "tough" on cp crimes? ;)
duh!
or store everything in folders that look like malware servers...

you just said it. :-)
It is a cartel, but if we instead call it a general patent standards body then we should be all set.
Schnier already covered that.
I mentioned it to someone at work, that these queues, some C4, and ball bearings would work wonders... They looked at me like I was a terrorist.
go figure.

There is no magic knock-out drug that makes you go to sleep
I think loss of cabin pressure will do that fairly quickly.

Ha ha ha, awesome.
I suppose this is much like our "Internet is a series of tubes" senator then?

no. Their economy just sucks.
Also re: fusion device... ha ha ha ha ha (or I suppose ke ke ke ke ke). yeah, whatever.

someone smarter than me obviously (or not so smarter given the imperial - metric all time best screw up) is figuring that part out. :-)
