Fuck you you pompous asshole. I *am* a Canadian. Just what or who have you protected us from? I think if you look at the history
the last attack on Canadian soil was by *Americans* for fucks sake.
Here's a news flash: we don't want your fuckin help, Canada has build a great reputation as being a friend to the entire world. Again, who exactly have you protected us from? BTW, Canada was in WW2 from pretty much the begining...America didn't declare war until after Pearl Harbour. I consider Americans great friends to Canada (that is American people, not your fucked up government) but people like you and your ignorant attitude is exactly why Canadians (and others in the world) can't fucking stand you.
If it's not clear yet...we don't want your help, go fuck yourself)
Disclaimer before I get flamed: This post is directed against the anonymous coward above...not the american people as a whole.
2) This isn't The Return Of The King, it's "Half Of The Two Towers And The Return Of The King". They could have cut out most of the extraneous scenes from the TTT (like the Arwen ones) and kept stuff from TTT in TTT.
If you stop and just think about it for a second (or watch the documentary with PJ, where this issue is explained quite elegantly...) you will realize this is impossible to do in the medium of film. Think about the layout of TTT and ROTK, they are split up into two seperate books each, which explain two seperate stories. Now the events in book 4 (part 2 of TTT) take place at the same time chronologically, as the events in book 5 (part 1 ROTK). While this is a great device for dramatic tension in the books, it would make for a terrible film(s) that has no sense of continuity.
Yeah, nice try but no. Zeitgeist is a real word. It was anglicized from German, and has been in English dictionaries (and spoken and written in English) for over 100 years. "Pizzone" is a brand name marketing term for a specific product. It was created by marketing droids from Pizza Hut, as you mention. It is not in any dictionary, and it is not spoken or written in any form except whence referring to said specific product.
The difference is that zeitgeist is usually used outside the context of google.
I was just bugging you. I guess my point is that the details on exactly what this character did are not fully explained in the article. One can imagine that perhaps the password that this fellow pilfered allowed him access to the user database where a simple SQL query would produce a valid list of AOL email accounts.
Yeah, a business having a list of current customers, that's pretty odd.
All kidding aside, it seems perfectly reasonable for AOL to have a database of email addresses/usernames. How else are they going to know if a particular address/username is taken or not? Without a list of customers how the hell do they know who to send the bills to each month?
No kidding. I was scratching my head about that myself. As a spam filter, gmail is excellent, but pretty muych useless because it forwards the spam too...I mean, why????
You know, it could be that MS purchased Giant so they don't have to do their own research into the intricacies of how some spyware is installed, avoids detection, and re-inserts itself after "removal"
You of course refer to the "intricacies" of how spyware exploits the weak security model of MS code. I wouldn't bother if I was them either...
Yeah, If you want to buy steel instead of fabricating it go nuts, just don't market yourself as a great innovator in steel technology;)
PS it was a joke...
Not sure of 10 000 000, but speaking anecdotaly, Firefox usage is on the rise. About a month ago, based on my webalizer stats, I was getting about 2:1 ie:firefox. Over the last month firefox has slowly climbed and today those figures are roughly reversed. It is interesting to see the figures change so rapidly.
People are getting the message...
However, as a kde fanboy, I gotta say firefox is still way too clunky, and I can get 10 instances of konq open in the time it takes firefox to load. Please don't flame on the technical merits of this last paragragh, there are none...it's an opinion people. If firefox works better for you then good on you.
Your right, I misread your post. I got the impression that you were saying that indie acts need to get in with a big labels if they want to amount to anything, which clearly your last paragraph refutes...sorry:)
However, the link I provided, as well as being an interesting dissection of what the big labels do...should be read by all indie musicians and music fans to get a clearer picture of how the majority of big-labels treat their new talent.
also, not all bands starting out have the money up front to pay for studio time and pressing the discs and shipping them out and advertising. that's what the RIAA is for.
Steve Albini doesn't agree with you. For a clearer picture of what big labels do for their new talent read the link...
Right after I read this article I installed this thing and in less then 10 minutes I had a shell on my server. It was an unprivileged distcc user, but still. There is nothing written in my logs, and the only clue that my server was haxored was by running 'netstat -a' during the exploit, and this output from ps which shows distcc doing something it shouldn't be:
There was actually only one unix exploit (the distcc one) next to about 25-30 Windows exploits. A Solaris one too. Don't think I want to play with this puppy outside of my network...
The real issue is why so many linux users feel the need to 'sell' linux to others. Sure some big players such as IBM try to sell linux as the greatest thing since sliced bread, but that is not (nor ever was) the goal of Linus Torvalds, and a large majority of OS software developers. They just wanted to have their 'own' system to work and play with, rather than having the software they use dictated by a monopoly.
Is it just me that's content to run my linux box and feel silently superior without pushing it on every windows user?
There will almost certainly be a support ship/boat about 100 yards behind her at all times.
Near where I live they have a canoe race across 90km of a sheltered inlet, and they have support ships everywhere.
I am sure she is not suicidal. As for sleeping: just lay back and fall asleep watching the stars.
You are both right and wrong. Gentoo is notoriously hard for noobs to install/configure/use but if you know what you are doing you can have ALL of your software compiled and optimized to create a screaming fast desktop machine.

Very poor taste buddy...
Tell that to all the millionaires who's homes burnt during the California wildfires a few years back.

Presumably it would be a hidden cost passed on by your registrar.

I see that famous "Microsoft Innovation" is still hard at work. Why write your own code when you can buy a company, and bastardize theirs...

I think you have missed the point of the parent post. It's pretty sad that you would consider having ideals as a "fallacy in...thinking".
