So let's see how this plays out:
1. Ask vendor: "This device contains only legit chips, right?"
2. Vendor replies: "Absolutely!"
3. Device bricks.
4. Return to vendor: "My device is dead."
5. Vendor says; "Here's a replacement."
6. Device bricks.
7. Return to vendor: "This device is dead, too"
8. Vendor says: "Here's a replacement."
9. Device bricks.
Eventually: "All these devices are defective, can we open one up to see if the chips are counterfeit?"
Warranty void.
Yeah...that will work.
I'm responsible for my childrens welfare. I'm not responsible for what they do because I cannot know everything they do without being the sort of insanely controlling parent who shouldn't have children anyway.
Sure, I am control their bank account. That's easy. I'm actually controlling the bank, not the child. Anyone who had ever let a child walk to the corner store to buy milk knows you can't know what they do once out of sight. Making parents liable for that is just nuts. It's an impossible situation.
It's like making you responsible for what I'm going to do next. Just as arbitrary and dumb as that.
The need to maintain applications that cost millions to develop is a powerful driver for keeping languages alive. The banking industry (and others) invested HUGE amounts of money in applications based on COBOL. Those applications still do the job, every day. Occasionally they need to be enhanced or extended....and it's cheaper to do that than start from scratch with something else.
The languages that will die are those that never resulted in applications that can't be easily / cheaply replaced by something else.
... I realized how little value it provided for the huge amount of time it consumed.
Especially the news. If I want to be fed lies by omission and half-truths I'd rather talk to my kids.
I suspect the government wanting that information is WHY it's there.
The Microsoft desktop OS monopoly makes more sense now. It made spying on everyone easier.
Meanwhile....It's Fox News that's corrupt.
It would be funny if it didn't kill people.
Rupert Murdoch should be stripped of his media holdings and sent to prison. His mother lived to be 100+, so he could still serve a decent stretch for his many crimes against humanity committed by his lying media across decades.
I use an iPhone 4 for work. The screen is too small, so I'm happy the iPhone 6 models have bigger screens.
But my main phone is a Nexus 5. I always have the latest version of Android. But overall, Android let's me access files anywhere and use them however I need to use them My Apple phone experience is ruined by the iTunes ball and chain and not being able to use my files as and when I need to.
I change my Gmail password at least every 3 months. I never use the same password twice, though I do use the same 'formula" to compose the passwords other than my Gmail account. For my primary Gmail account, I don't use the formula. So if you hack my primary Gmail account, you can't get into my backup / recovery account easily...or vice-versa. This is easy to do and you don't need a powerful memory. Just a meta-memory.
China can descend into violence on a large scale and quickly. History makes that clear. That huge army is probably required for disaster relief and suppressing local insurrections.
I hear the sark... But It's worth pointing out that "ObamaCare" was the only formulation of reform that the GOP cross over members of Congress would support. I got critics of this reform keep in view that it COULD have been much better had the Republicans not crippled it.
But they blame Obama for it. They have no shame because they have no integrity.
By "trade union" you mean the American Medical Association or the local bar association for layers or a Chance of Commerce? Or do you just like bashing workers?
Note that this is yet another supposedly freedom loving conservative government doing this. I hope their voters eventually wake up to the simple fact they do the OPPOSITE of what they claim to represent.
I use Google+ and very much prefer it to Facebook. It's easier to use and easier to find things of interest. Pseudonyms were hard to do anyway.... You just made them look like. Pseudo real name.
The problem is the two part system, itself a product of a non-proportional voting system.
Money is just the symptom, a consequence of to few people to buy.... Offering a high yield for investment.
If there was ever any doubt, we now know AT&T doesn't understand the Internet.... and spent want to.
Customers pay to be connected. End of story.
Apparently that's too complicated for AT&T.
True then and true now.
Most democracies (almost 90% today) avoid this problem by using proportional voting systems that deliver diverse, multi-party legislatures where no one party controls everything. So they must work together....and if one party refuses to play ball, then usually someone else will. It's not perfect, but it's massively better than how the US does things.
(In a system using proportional representation (dependong on how it is set up), voters vote for a party (list PR with candidates on ranked lists), or a person who represents a party (STV - Single transferable Vote) - or both - (Mixed-Member Proportional with local and list candidates) and seats are allocated to parties based on their share of the total vote. Ten percent of the vote gets a party 10% of the seats. Votes actually count! They elect people that voters actually want. No matter where you live.....
It's so much better. It's insane the US is incapable of revising it's failed political institutions. Most Americans have no idea how their own country actually works.

As the thieves stole the land of others, they used strong language common among thieves, murderers and Linux developers. ;-)

It's closed source software. You'll never really know.....

We use VPNs to stop people stealing our intellectual property.
Don't think he missed it. The previous comment probably just provoked a related tangent.

He also wrote "kill" using the "gun". Tell the whole story. America's gun terror is a consequence of its idiotic gun laws.... Or lack of them.

So it's not just me. BMWs do tend to attract inconsiderate people with an exaggerated sense of entitlement. Audis and Mercedes are far behind.
