There isn't room for all the cars that would result from your suggestion. That's why public transport exists and millions of people (must) use it. Cars are small town transport tech. Big cities choke to death on cars.
Totally agree. It's insane to "trust" any private business entity that can fail tomorrow with a technology that must be seen in terms of centuries and millennia. I'm talking about current nuke technology, not some hoped-for future technology that has potential but hasn't been deployed at scale anywhere.
Fukushima - build a reactor on a coast as tsunami bait. Lie about risk and problems.
Chernobyl - build a reactor and then do dumb stuff and have a meltdown. We will always do dumb stuff.
It's just a matter of time until the next disaster leaves another area of the planet uninhabit able for millennia. We still have no idea how to store these martials safely for a period of time that is a multiple of all recorded history.
Donald Trump. The GOP. There is just to much stupid around for this technology to ever be safe.
It's just not necessary.
It will be proprietary and half a dozen well-placed accidents could wrote out that progress. Very few people today actually know how to do the most advanced things. Such thinly distributed knowledge could very easily be lost in a single accident.
There is an intermediate step you left out. The Russians gave the Ukrainian military some missile batteries, which then feel into the hands of ethnic Russian separatists in the Ukraine. It would be likely these separatists had been in the Ukrainian military and knew how to operate the missile battery. Badly.
That idea right there confirmed me as an atheist. Any god that supposedly behaved that way isn't worthy of worship. Unless you're going to worship every emotionally needy, abusive thug you've ever met.
Economists forget that most people aren't economists don't don't behave how economists think they will or should. This is why neo-liberalism has run aground. People just sent that selfish. But some are. It depends on what one values.... and people value things quite differently. For example, some people will pay extra for a shurt with certain logo on it. Others would not have the shirt even for free because they consider it to have been defaced by the same logo.
Value is subjective.... Though non economists seem to understand this much better than some economists.
Agreed. They are also the same group who talk freedom and practice creeping corporate fascism.
A natural fit for the GOP and the Clinton-loving Democrat leadership.
I think he was citing "Trump Facts". They are a subset of "GOP Facts". As such, they require no evidence because "everyone knows it's true."
They are serious.
The error in your comment is that you assume all Muslims behave as you describe. The reality is that the crimes you mention would be committed in far greater numbers by Christians. But the religion isn't deemed to be relevant in that case. Nor is it relevant when a Muslim behaves badly.
A person who commits those crimes is a bad person no matter what their religion.
That's simple enough that even a bigot should be able to understand it. Maybe.
Bitcoin has the advantage of bypassing blockades by the mainstream payment methods (credit cards and PayPal). It also avoids the many restrictions the banking system imposes on anything.
I've had my credit card blocked yet again by my bank for trying to but things online IBM places it doesn't expect me to. I'm talking about buying something innocuous like a Target gift card. OK, Target don't take Bitcoin, yet.
I also note the value of Bitcoins has increased by over 50% this year. It's around US$410 / 1 BTC. Five years ago it was $16.
Bullshit. The problem in the media isn't left wing bias. That's laughable.
It's the reverse. The opposite. Trump gets 20 times the coverage of Bernie Sanders.
If there was a left wing bias, it would be the other way around.
It isn't the other way around. Not even close..
Much of the established media is simply the mouthpiece of whichever billionaire owns it. I'm not paying them to mislead me by distorting my world.
This year I contributed $1000 to an independent journalism foundation, as well as subscribed to some much smaller media sources I felt were doing good work.
If more of us pay attention and support the good guys with money and by promoting their work then we will begin to solve the problem.
Exactly. The pattern across these past several decades has been consent. "Protect us from fill-in-the-blank" but actually use the means provided against selected domestic dissidents and activists. Unless they are white men with guns.

The software company I worked for uses the existing developers to maintain and enhance the core of the main product. Anything new is developed in cheap, eastern European countries like Ukraine or Slovenia. They fly analysts out to do the talk to customers part as well as develop the specs and work with the programmers. So it's a case of the entire function is outsourced, not just the programming. This is mainly so the analysts are linguistically compatible.

Aahh! Good to know. Thanks for clarifying that.

Best description ever.
Canadian football fields are in metres, surely. Not yards.
True.
Proud gun owners worry me. Proud toothbrush owners less so.
It's amazing. Perhaps to much lead in the water?
