David Banach, 38, of Parsippany, admitted under questioning that he aimed the hand-held laser beam at the jet and later a helicopter, but did not intend to do any harm, authorities said.

The jet was flying at 3,000 feet with six passengers aboard and was about 11 miles away from the airport. The flash temporarily blinded the pilots, but they were able to safely land the plane.

During the period from about 120,000 years ago to 20,000 years ago, the Antarctic Ice Sheet grew much larger than it is today. This was the last glacial phase. Since about 20,000 years ago, the ice sheet has been retreating to its present size. This marks the present interglacial phase of the cycle. A similar change occurred in the Northern Hemisphere, with ice sheets expanding across large areas of North America, Asia, and Europe. Shifts in climatic conditions occur across the globe accompany these cycles. This cycle of advance and retreat of the ice sheets in the Northern and Southern hemispheres has occurred many times in the past and will occur again in the future.

All but small remnants of the continental ice sheets retreated from North America thousands of years ago. Although it may appear that the Ice Age has ended, many scientists argue that our present relatively warm period represents but a brief interlude and that the glaciers may again advance in the future.

A glacier covering much North America, Europe, and Asia seems like a more serious (and more likely) problem than a mega tsunami.

Norway exports 3.466 million bbl of oil/day - Only Saudi Arabia and Russia export more oil than Norway.

Due to their oil production, Norway is the third biggest contributor to greenhouse gas emmissions on earth, but they don't seem to feel very guilty if you were to judge them on the amount of foreign aid they give. They make ~40 Billion a year selling oil, and they donate a paltry 1.4 Billion?

What does Norway think happens to all the oil they sell - do they think it magically disappears? Why do they continue to supply this greenhouse gas producing liquid?

It follows that this court cannot order the Secretary to establish standards for the recanvassing of ballots previously rejected in this election, although this ruling shall disallow the canvassing boards addition of new votes to the current vote totals. And petitioners' call for uniform signature-checking standards (seemingly beyond the statutory requirement that the signature on an absentee ballot be the same as the signature in voter registration files) is beyond the relief that can be afforded in this action.

    The latest ruling states:

noted, the King County Canvassing Board says that these 573 ballots were previously coded by election employees as having "no signature on file." The board has now concluded that this designation may have been in error, since election workers failed to check the signatures against voter records on file, as required by RCW 29A.40.110(3) and King County rules for this election. As it is allowed for the canvassing boards to add new votes to the current vote totals, yhe board has therefore decided to recanvass the ballots and correct any such errors that it finds.
