No, the config files do not get updated. You must run "etc-update" to update your config files. Gentoo won't overwrite your existing configurations. It makes you do it.
Even before the "Do Not Call" list, you could tell telemarketers "don't call back" or "take me off your list". It's actually illegal for them to call back after being told this. If they called repeatedly I would ask for a supervisor and file a complaint with the FTC.
they can only not call you on the very same offer. other people in the household are still viable, new offers (were) still okay, etc.
an oops: already dumped XFree86 for X.org link in Related Links bar for this article points to: http://slashdot.org/__SLASHLINK__ which is obviously a 404 error.
emerge -UD world is a very, very dangerous way to upgrade your system.
emerge -Du world is the way to be. the U implies upgradeonly, when really a bad patch could have been applied. -u keeps you at the latest and greatest version. U can very easily break your system, even if you are Johnny Careful.
Makes me wonder if you would need a current "Server" Microsoft OS to use the full potential of the chip. They currently only support 2 "CPUs". Meaning 1 HT or 2 standard CPUs.
1 dual-core/HT CPU would be "4" theoretical CPUs, wouldn't it?
AMD feels the need to produce 64-bit "desktop" CPUs, while Intel doesn't claiming they don't see the market for it.
Intel feels the need to produce Dual-Core chips, while AMD sits back and says they won't until they see the market for it.
Sounds like the processor market is now being forked. The difference between an AMD and an Intel CPU is finally going to start emerging. Before recently, they were both x86 and did everything practically the same. The difference was how they were numbered. Now, they are going in two totally different ways -> one dual-core and one 64bit. When will we see 64bit, dual core cpus from each?
Aside from weight, which will obviously be different on the case that has the phone in it compared to the case that does not, WHERE is the phone being placed? Inside an empty can with a different style lid? Or is the phone can-shaped, to prevent the case from making "noises" or rattling that a normal case wouldn't make... in any case (no pun intended) the case will be different. Though I do not support cheating the game.

I hear that's a great place to go for nic drivers.
Not to mention Quagga/Zebra are darn good routers. See the UNH links? Yeah.
:P
First hand experience beating the crap out of them.

spaces? there's no spaces.

I can't wait until Microsoft gives me my 5GHz computer to run Longhorn.
x.org is a fork of XFree86-4.3.99, so the drivers will certainly, without a doubt, work flawlessly.

newer things. better versions. faster. bugfixes. security fixes.
I can keep going if you like.
there are plenty of reasons to upgrade your operating system and/or kernel.
only being 'used' if you provide bugreports, etc.
How many people actually do this? Very few. And why are you complaining, you get a free operating system in the process.
my server is 59.1cm long.

It is now apparent why text-only browsing can get the best of us...
