    and different municipal waters taste different due to different local soil mineral content. Nobody tastes water, you just taste the impurities. Completely pure water is tasteless to humans.

    IMO, the best tasting water in the world is the tap water in Red Deer, Alberta.

    Canning or freezing vegetables and fruits does not make a significant difference in the vitamin content. Also makes it much more convenient while still avoiding all the processed foods.

    Acetaminophen seems to be a North America thing (it's the United States Adopted Name and is also used in Canada and probably Mexico). It's otherwise known as Paracetamol (the International Nonproprietary Name) in most of the rest of the world.

    You presume that the ice will not float northwards into the shipping lanes. All that ice can travel a long ways before melting.

    For another comparison, good dialup (44.6k) "caps" (maximum possible transfer) at a little over 14GB/month. Almost 25GB if you count both upload and download.

    Windows seems to have a tendency to whine when it doesn't have a swap file, regardless of how much RAM you give it.

    You likely wouldn't notice it unless you use it as your fulltime browser. It searches the history and displays results, but in a more indepth manner (searches page titles AND urls and doesn't just search from the front) than a "normal" address bar. It also sorts said results "smartly" based on usage. (lots of people hate it for this reason).

    It really has a love-it-or-hate-it quality. I personally liked it once I got used to it (and vice versa).

    I wish the story was a joke, but there is prescription strength ibuprofen. My mom has 600mg ones for her tendinitis.

    they're a good thing as:

    a. They're adequate for the purpose.

    b. They're cheaper than an equivalent strength of OTC ibuprofen. Even more so as they're covered by her workplace health insurance.

    What I don't understand is why a red-light camera that only fires when you run the red-light is an invasion of your privacy but a police officer pulling you over for the exact same thing isn't.

    a police officer generally has some level of intelligence and reasoning behind things.

    There is only one federal circuit. There's also 11 other circuits (numbered 1-11), plus the DC circuit.

    In the hands of an idiot, pretty much any system can be made insecure. In this case, it requires using a weak username/password and allowing password authenticated login from WAN (this is off by default in the mentioned systems). Linux is no more resistant to this type of attack than Windows is or any other OS.
