I installed the FB app when I first received my Galaxy Nexus, and the battery life dropped from 3 days to 1, so I axed it, and added a desktop shortcut to their mobile site, which seems to work well enough for me.

I've been using the mobile website instead of the Android app for about a year. It's not quite as good as the app, but is more than adequate for my needs and has no battery impact. The only notifications I care about get emailed to me.

It is, however, a rifle with good accuracy and little recoil, so it really doesn't matter if it was full auto or not against unarmed children :(

Also, FWIW, these rifles are restricted in Canada in the same way that handguns are.

At the end of each shift we would throw into a dumpster barrels of cooked, perfectly fine food (after the staff took what we wanted, of course). Other industries are starting to be hit by a similar problem as flash manufacturers ever-increase the density of the chips and start EOL-ing their lower density models. This comparatively extreme density makes them unreliable for certain high-integrity, critical data logging applications. One technique the manufacturers seem to employ (I have seen this first hand but am not an EE) is to stack multiple dies within a single IC with some type of very thin metallic(?) padding material between them. This padding in turn wreaks havoc on the IC when subjected to high temperatures (>200C), which other chips could handle just fine in terms of not losing data.

Some people don't like to have half a dozen devices connected to their TV's if one device is capable of performing most of those tasks. I fondly recall the "debates" I had with the gf over where to put the DVD player I insisted we buy after I got frustrated with our PS3's lack of IR remote-control support when I have an otherwise homogeneous system with my Logitech Harmony.

Others, still, do not have enough input sockets on their TV's to support new devices. If I somehow only have one component input, to which my DVD player is currently connected to, and later buy a Wii, it would be nice to not be forced to balance like a monkey trying to reach behind the TV to rewire each time I switch devices.

Regardless, when I was younger, my father would always rent many cool games from the local software library, a store dedicated solely for that purpose. They were in business for many years, however they went out of business during the period when all good games required CD's, but CD burners were not around yet ;)

The only requirement was that you could not keep a copy, and even that might be questionable, because to my understanding with Canadian copyright law, I can legally copy say a CD, any CD, like from a library, for a personal-only copy, provided it's made from the original media.

Last I checked a few years ago, some smaller video rental shops carried PC games as well. Last one I rented was Wing Commander 4, IIRC.
