  1. Mod parent up on The Unemployed Working on OSS Projects · · Score: 2, Informative

This OSS idea is the first time I've heard of people who have to "work for the dole" actually receiving beneficial tasks to getting a new job. The government likes to choose degrading jobs such as "paint this toilet until the paint bucket is empty." Not untily you've finished. If you finish and the buckets only half empty, guess what you're doing. You're repainting the wall.

You don't need to degrade dole workers. Sheeesh. Because those who make a career out of it, just won't care. Whereas those who honestly can't find a job, will hate the system even more.

Ah well. I still refer to Star Wars as a bi-trilogy.

It's just two trilogies. You don't refer to someone with two-wives a bi-husband do you? No (you refer to them as insane^H^H^H^H^H^H^H). Just because the two trilogies don't have a name to differentiate between themselves (other then original trilogy, prequel/new trilogy). Same with Dune, you don't refer to that as a (whatever a series with 12 books in it is referred to as). It is made up of two trilogies and a (whatever you refer to a series with 6 books in, it isn't a bi-trilogy).

No need to rape the English language with pretend words.

Only when sold (as in. If you sell a binary for $50, you must include the source (or a way to access it). If you sell a binary for $0, you must include the source). Instead of saying "You must include the binary for free" you can say "You mustn't sell the binary without the source." It's like "free air conditioning" in a car. It's not free, it's just included in the price of the car.

Sorry, but this simply isn't an option for people who actually enjoy music from artists on RIAA labels

They chose a bad organization to represent them. They have a choice, make it big and go with the RIAA, or not support an organization with questionable ethics. If they have no problem with the RIAA's ethics, then they have to accept the good with the bad.

If you're boycotting the RIAA, you should think about looking for indie artists you like and support them.
