while civil infractions are generally ambiguous. That's fine if you believe that and in a lot of cases I might agree. This isn't a case where I do agree. That doesn't make you right and me wrong.
You're already falling into a fallacy when you equate "infringing vs non-infringing" with "right vs wrong" What has this got to do with criminal versus civil?
I would like to think that most people want to enjoy music while respecting the rights of people who make the music to make a living. I'd like world peace. Sadly if the majority of people at Slashdot have their way your thought will be as likely as mine.
Not everyone has your morals. Some of us actually believe copyright infringement is wrong. Some of us also believe perpetual copyright terms are wrong. And calling it a fallacy doesn't make you any more right and us any less right.
If someone doesn't agree with you, that doesn't make them wrong.
Some people (at least in Australia) will actually create a box and write a name below it and then number the box. Its a donkey vote and I thought the link was your way of saying that's what you're doing;) Glad to see you're not going to do that:) And I forgot you don't actually know whose running, despite the fact campaigning has already started.
Fortunately (or is that unfortunately considering the election will affect us?) we aren't inundated with news on the subject 24/7. I didn't even know New Hampshire had some election in this pre-election zaniness the Americans have designed to increase the length of elections.
I think it stinks, but it's their network. They can do what they want. You are free to take your business elsewhere. Fine. In that case they can utilize their network without having any of their cables cross public property. They're free to either sell the current cables to the government at a price the government demands or they can remove the cables without causing any damage to the public property (i.e. Any damage they cause by digging up the cables they own they must immediately pay to be fixed).
Our property, our rules. They can take their business elsewhere if they don't like it.
If you read all of Microsoft's EULA's you'll also find that you: * Give Microsoft the right to any and all ideas you might think up * Must always vote Republican * Will sell any children present or future you have into slavery * Will sell your soul to Satan
Fortunately it has yet to be ruled if these EULA's of Microsoft's are binding.
Every now and then, I see somebody proclaiming Penny Arcade as a great comic, so I go back and take another look, and I just totally don't get it. Its been a great financial success which is why I use it to show that the digital comic medium definitely has merit.
There, is that simple enough for you? Or do I have to include the solution as well? Because I don't think I could explain America's current system (which is the weirdest I've ever seen) in one sentence.
I didn't mean that the fear of terrorism is a self fulfilling prophecy. How did you reach that conclusion? This is designed to catch terrorists. A self fulfilling prophecy would be it causes more terrorists so its easier to catch some.
I mean, even if you didn't watch the previous 3 Die Hard films nor notice any of the reviews, the advertising and the title should have tipped you off. I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting a little bit more. The second Die Hard movie (or was it the first?) seemed to have more plot. Or I at least remember it as having more plot (I was a fair bit younger though so perhaps the pretty explosions were enough to entertain me for 2 hours).
Being an Australian it was double useful for me as I had no idea what any valid American postcodes were, except for that single one.
Well yes, it was a theoretical possibility, in an attempt to explain where the number came from.
I'm a bit confused why some mod thinks it to be trollish.
When it was 55,000 I could have bid 55,100 and been the highest bidder.
Lets say putting a photocopier there is copyright infringement, aren't libraries exempt anyway thanks to some special law?

In that case you approve of whoever gets voted in and I sincerely hope you don't complain about what they do as you didn't try to stop them.
So who will you be voting for?

2007 was also the Year of Linux for me too! Earlier attempts had been too difficult to install Linux, this time it was easier then XP.

I was joking. You had implied that the bible wasn't real. Sheeesh.
You mean print comics never sell out? That's either amazing technology or simply shitty comics.
I noticed the typo because I was having trouble working out what he meant. Thanks for the correction.
I'm holding a copy of the bible in my hands. I think you'll find there's more facts supporting the existence of the bible then against it.
Systems broke, it needs to be fixed.

They are actually adapting.
Do the right thing, or do the wrong thing. Sadly I think you've well assessed what today's youth will choose.
