Depends on how the mission is stated. If they're told that criminals have entered that wealthy home and are holding the owner hostage the wealth won't be a reason for them to doubt the accuracy of their data.
Hell, imagine someone predicting the year 2000 from the year 1900. Even if they can accurately model all the societal responses they cannot predict technological progress. If the atom bomb had never been invented the cold war would not have stayed cold, a prediction would not have known about the atom bomb beforehand and would have predicted that the war would break out.
Odin Sphere does kill you if you fail to dodge 1-2 attacks from bosses or minibosses (unless you do excessive levelling). Then again you can just restart the boss fight immediately and continue until you beat him.
Then again the same goes for Bunny Must Die and that game feels harder than OS. Maybe it's easier if you can understand the hints the game gives you, though...
Nice Touhou reference in there but I wonder if larger numbers really warrant calling the game fundamentally different. Personally I got bored with the game pretty early, probably not even lv20 on my highest chars (or 1-2 levels above that?) and a constant need to level to continue with the campaign. Levels don't seem to come faster than in other games so the lack of a level cap just means more time spent to keep up with the required levels.
Then again the only other SRPG I've played was FFTA and I got bored with that much faster, didn't even change equipment once on my units.
And while you're at it, try Bleach DS. Sounds like crap because it's a licensed game and carries the Sega name but they put Treasure on the job and the result is pure awesome. Even has ranked online play.
Wolf 3D uses 2d gameplay, there is no height. That may be Doom you're thinking of, it uses height differences but still only has sprites representing everything.
The events aren't combined, every type of event is counted separately. Detecting a stimulus takes some of your attention resources and as the frequency of a stimulus reduces you pay less attention to it.
Back then I wished I had an NES. All I had was a C64 and later a Gameboy. But judging by my ability to afford games the C64 with those 80 disks of warez included (was bought used) was probably the better choice. Those educational computers seemed cool to me at the time but realistically a C64 is superior and teaches much more useful things (like the QWERTY layout, English and BASIC along with binary, RAM address poking and ASCII codes) than just the spelling of "broom".
There's a physical limit to the amount of friction your car can have with the road. You can increase the braking performance but that has a limit. I doubt that stock equipment is so bad that you can increase its performance by any significant amount (50% or so) before hitting the physical limit.
You forgot the most important difference: Event frequency. When you frequently react to an event you will have a much lower reaction time to it than when it's a rare event. In an FPS you will rarely go a minute without combat but when driving you can go for hours without an obstacle, greatly increasing your reaction time when you do encounter one.
Actually I believe they're called Shine Sprites or something but I just call 'em stars.
What changed from M64 was that while in M64 the level stayed mostly the same and all stars were always available in SMS only the selected star was spawned, forcing you to go through the stars in order and discouraging random exploration because you wouldn't get anything out of it.
A DMCA takedown can be countered by a counterclaim. After that no further claims may be made (at least by the issuer of the takedown notice) and the matter must be resolved in court so taking content down when you don't own it won't work.
Let me guess... You have never played Baldur's Gate or Castlevania SOTN? Or more exactly you have only played that BG: Dark Alliance or what it's called game on the PS2? Sorry but that's not what he's talking about. He means the real Baldur's Gate, the PC RPG famed for taking up 5 CDs.
I guess Bioshock isn't very popular with them...

We don't have to pay any "theft restitution tax" that goes to victims of actual theft. The music industrty just gets preferential treatment.
But the weather is just large groups of gas and fluid molecules!

There's a lot of indie games in 2d but of course we aren't talking about those here, right?

Wow, that's a retarded website... Doen't load at all in Opera.
Try Frequon Invaders, that's probably 4D since it displays a 2d plane consisting of complex numbers.
There's a clone called Crazy Machines, CM2 came out not too long ago AFAIK. No idea if it stacks up to TIM but it's probably not expensive to try it.

I've been wondering about Arcana Heart. Is it good?
The pushing away was probably caused by SCEA's rejection policies more than gamers.
Or send them to a politician.
Portable toilets using a chemical flushing system to prevent the stench from getting too bad, the kind used in camping and construction equipment.

90% (95%?) of drivers consider themselves above average...

This raises the question if authors or inventors can only be natural persons or if a corporation can be considered the author/inventor of a work.

More importantly, how many do that and don't end up as the black sheep of their respective series?
