  3. Microtransaction = Cheating on Cryptic's Roper Explains Microtransactions For Champions Online · · Score: 2, Insightful

Microtransaction = Cheating. Its like the rich kid who gets al the best baseball equipment and coaching. It leaves the other teammates feeling like he cheated. In fact he did, because his effort is as much a product of his parents money as it is his skill, and so it is here. the game world is really supposed to exist in itself. In a monthly pay game, when you get the magic sword you got it by working for it, not buying it at the store because you have a great job outside of the fantasy world. THis is why gold farmers are all about cheating. Here you have the publisher becoming the gold farmer. MMO's and all RPG's are supposed to be about merit and skill. When you take that away you destroy your achievements.

  5. Re:they can pass it all they want... on New York to Implement an 'Amazon Tax' · · Score: 3, Insightful

Precisely, Part of the problem is that the law is unequally applied. i wish I had my own right-wing/libertarian ACLU to go around suing for fun and profit all the time. int his case a use tax implies that something is used. Whats next? Taxes from ever state an item is passed across? Why not? Amazon should refuse to collect the taxes and see what NY can do about it. They cant stop Fedex from shipping items from Amazon to NY. I wonder what would happen if someone sued a state fro NOT collecting taxes on all packages shipped across its state? Why not since NY is stating taht all items shipped to it can be taxed.

If your going to have a Venus probe there is always the chance it will land on the earth and go berserk. So you need a bionic man or woman to fight it. Actually, why are we making Venus probes at all for a bunch of stupid textbook companies. Let them pay for th probe. what we need is to make fembots. I want fembots dammit. Affectionate fembots that can make flapjacks... Now that would be a worthwhile implementation of science.

No. In Catholicism they reveal that your computer has already been controlled by an evil entity that hates you but that a good entity loves you and wants to install beneficial software that will help you.

You can keep using the evil software for free and keep paying hidden fees or you can get a new install of the good software that someone else has already paid for.

Actually I met statesman on Halloween night at the Sunnyvale Frys. Warwitch is a plesant and charming woman. Stateman is decidedly less charming. When I started asking them questions and got to ED, he just piped up and said "ED is here to stay... thats final!" But my question was, "whats the rationale behind ED?" why is it happening this way? Atually, I hate the skill tree methodology of power aquisition because it is just another intance of the old hard class sytem. "You are lvl 4, now you can summon your magical warhorse!" *yawn* I would rather have a pure points system like in Hero and buy my powers with advantages or disadvantages. The responce from the Dev's was taht someone might just put all their points into flight and not be able to do anything. But just like in Champions you get your ass shot off and you learn. I think a suitable system would be to have a template type system for newbies which might include a graduated power increase, and then have an expert level system which is raw points. Then you could have the toon you want instead of the toon you settled for.

The answer is simple: Delist Madonna and all the acts in question. Also de-wiki them untill they are paid to list them. Instead point all the references to Mary, the mother of Jesus. The only thing worse than not participating in the profits is to de-googled, de-yahooed, etc. Also close all their blogs. Google could ask for a list of all the names they would like to have stricken from the database. in fact this kind of counter poison should shock the hell out of the music buiz when the major search engines strike them from the internet record. The funniest thing about this is that PR people do everything they can to get people to talk about their star/product/act and then when they do they want to tax it. the reason there is a google is because of advertising.
