Actually, it's only proof that I've ceased to consider you a person worthy of rational explanation or discourse due to your own repeated demostrations of stupidity in the face of reason.
Subjective claims do not help your arguement. In fact you are just as likely to be oblivious of your own diminished rational and intellectual capacity. Your personal attacks, given your limited opportunity to judge me as a person, are laughable. Go, crawl back under your bridge, troll.
Unlike the speeder who creates the potential hazard by his action, you make the delibertate, conscious decision to act out against him in a manner that will undoubtedly create a hazardous situation, or make an existing one worse than it already was.
Nevermind the obvious fact that I never once stated that this is behavior I choose to exhibit. Regardless, it takes both parties to escalate the volatility of the situation, and if you persist in claiming that you are intelligent, as well as an asshole, than you must at least concede that tailgating is not a completely innocent activity. A little accountability might serve you well.
And the most amazing part of it is, you will state these positions and then label me as being self-centered and harboring rage/psychological issues...probably completely oblivious to the enormous hypocrisy therein. Pot, meet kettle. Kettle, pot. Welcome to Stupidville, Population: You.
It's called sarcasm. You're too focused on attempting to find fault in my argument that you are completely incapable of realizing how ridiculous I've shown your uninformed attacks to be.
I'm not a hateful person, but I can't say I'd be disappointed to see you tangled between a couple of cars on the side of the road. And the beautiful part is that you'll have brought it upon yourself. Karma's a bitch.
The fact that you have now resorted to unbridled insults is proof enough that you have serious rage and adequacy issues (and probably an alcohol problem - perhaps even a DUI or two). You are also proving to be rather successful at outing yourself as just another short-tempered, self-centered, mediocre driver who has no more business on the highways than you have expressing your twisted views on how they should run in conformity to your selfish desires.
It never occurs to you pious assclowns that there just might be another explanation for someone wanting you to move out of their way to let them pass
Even in an emergency, tailgating is still dangerous behavior which has the potential to seriously injure or kill not only you and/or your passenger(s), but other innocent drivers as well. Besides, how much more often do you tailgate simply because the speed limit just isn't good enough for you than because of an actual emergency? It seems to me that you are trying more to justify your own contempt for those who don't have something to prove by running down everyone else on the road.
Let's not forget that if you rear-end someone, it's *your* fault. I am perfectly within my rights to slam on the brakes to avoid a dangerous situation. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have adequate distance to stop before running into the car in front of you. If that is too much for you to handle, I would suggest that you expedite your Darwin Award before you find yourself behind me and lose the opportunity.
When you speed/tailgate, you seriously endanger not only yourself, but everyone else around you. There is no excuse for it. Impeding the prick who speeds up behind you and then proceeds to ride your ass as if he somehow has supreme authority over everyone on the road is not a matter of self-righteousness - it's a matter of respect. That person is exhibiting absolute arrogance and a total lack of respect for the safety of the drivers around him. Such a person deserves everything they get, up to and including a nice big mouthful of airbag.
For the greater safety and sanity of everyone on the road, just obey the law and get out of the speeders' way when they come up behind you.
Do you seriously mean to suggest that the people who impede your ability to break the law by speeding (deliberately or otherwise) are in fact the real problem? The posted speed limit does *not* apply to all lanes except the leftmost one. If someone driving the speed limit is in your way, deal with it. It is just as much your responsibility to obey the traffic laws as everyone else's.
for times when I'd like to use my laptop downstairs (approx. 2 storeys away) the signal strength is always poor with signal dropping out every now and then. With the least amount of cash outlay, I'd like to get more signal into other parts of the igloo.
Well, you could run some cat5 downstairs to another access point, or if you have a Linksys wireless router, you could purchase another AP and set it up to repeat the signal from one floor below (depending on the model). Barring that, you may have some luck with the Linksys high-gain antenna, or even one of these.
What's to say you couldn't ask Seth a math question and that he wouldn't give you an answer?
Probably the fact that he's likely a hopeless wallflower that would run away in terror if anyone not rougly resembling a PCB ever dared to approach him.
a real scary Halloween custume is Death framed inside a blue-tinted Window.
It's so fashionable to bash MS, but when someone says anything negative about Apple, their viewpoints are automatically squelched as if we live in Cuba or China. Mac-zealots are an arrogant, egocentric scourge.
If you want to do something meaningful, go vote and tell all your friends to vote.
Why the huge push to get everyone and their mother to go out and vote? If 120M people vote as opposed to 100M, what's the difference? For the most part, the percentage of people voting for one person or the other are going to be the same, save for a very minor shift in resolution.
It seems as if political corruption is becoming more and more blatant, and the general public just allows it to happen. And why should they? As long as they have their SUV's, McDonald's, and television to babysit their children, why should they give a shit what happens to someone halfway across the world? The US is so myopic, it's sickening. I say cut to the chase and let Bush elect himself again. The sooner they piss off the rest of the planet, the sooner they'll be on the receiving end of WWIII.
Obviously, but what is true is that they're using the technology in-house to correlate your IP address to your physical location. So when you search for something questionable, the overhead image of your home is automatically loaded into a cruise missile.
Considering that both the Google toolbar and the Google Desktop (and gmail notifier) apps are only for Windows, I'd say a Google-branded version of IE would be more likely.
Gah, idiot mods. I was supporting the argument of the grandparent poster. When a single company succeeds quickly and with very little competition, it is more difficult for someone else to break in and compete. This was true with Netscape. They had the market cornered, and the only way MS could hope to stand a chance was to give away for free what Netscape was charging for. Now 75% of Internet users choose IE.

On-CPU Peltiers From AMD?

Or maybe a jug of liquid nitrogen...
LN2 is fine and good as long as you have a replenishable supply, and asphyxiation doesn't concern you all that much. That being said, it still looks like a lot of fun.
Water-cooled peltiers seem to work out pretty well.
Yeah, they do. I had such a setup running an Athlon 750 at 950MHz at one point. As I recall, even at close to full load on the CPU, the temp was significantly below ambient. Though, I learned the hard way how important it is to effectively protect the chip against condensation...
I have had limited experience with Peltiers in the context of CPU overclocking, and I must say, my impression was that they're not all they're cracked up to be. Yeah, with a large enough cooler, you can drop the temp of the CPU significantly, but the effect is dependent on your ability to remove the heat from the other side (which is in excess of that given off by the CPU to begin with). A good water-cooling solution works well enough without the need for the extra drop in temp.
This is one of those words that we could easily remove from the lexicon if we could get over the absolutist position that ALL free speech is a good thing.
It is interesting how some words for some reason have a negative connotation attached to them, while others, although with the same meaning, do not. For example, the "N"-word has its roots in the word "negro" - the Spanish word for "black". I personally believe that "black" is a pefectly acceptable, descriptive word, just as "white" is. But once a word has a negative context associated with it, it becomes forever unsavory, despite the benign etymology of the word.
Pendulum, huh?
To borrow a quote from Seinfeld (weak, I know, but apt):
"Breaking up is like knocking over a vending machine. You have to rock it back and forth a few times - then it goes over."
At best, the cycle may very well continue. But I suspect that both sides are slowly devolving into similar outcomes.
Actually, it's only proof that I've ceased to consider you a person worthy of rational explanation or discourse due to your own repeated demostrations of stupidity in the face of reason.

Wow, I guess you got a new thesaurus as an early Christmas present.
In the spirit of OLPC, you can have mine. Just be patient and sound out the big words. You'll do fine.

I find this turn of events somewhat surprising, given Gates' rather contemptuous, puerile comments in the past.
For the greater safety and sanity of everyone on the road, just obey the law and get out of the speeders' way when they come up behind you.

And do it in firefox, maybe the major news sites will notice in their logs.
And why would they care? Firefox users are the minority, and will be for the forseeable future.

landing a helicopter without motor assistance is called "the sycamore landing".
For those interested, I believe the maneuver is more commonly referred to as an autorotation.

Yes they are. That's why I use Linux From Scratch

Not to be pedantic, but the correct term is "Freedom Bomb".

Yup, Nov. 2nd.
Hmmm. Pure water (condensed) doesn't conduct electricity... It will however corrode metal leads.
Yeah, the proc still worked, but it did turn several shades of green, blue, and orange.
