We have public transport in USA??? WoW ! That is news to me. Tell me where i can i get one in CT reliably well enough to go to Slater Rd from Brittany Rd. My roommate had a lexus that we shared...(he was an overpriced Oracle DBA anyway). I never could find a bus anywhere nearby although i see the bus stop everyday.
What part of our meddling in other countries is permitted? When we say we have zero-tolerance for other countries meddling in our affairs, what right do we have to expect that they tolerate us 10%? The isolationist USA of 1800s was better than the USA now. However Ron Paul is too correct, and he would not be even nominated, let alone elected. They will squash him like a Bug, and his recent bill to abolish the Federal Reserve only makes him more vulnerably. He is a sensible, decent, realistic guy who shares other countries agonies. However US has always prided on itself treating its own citizens more equal than other countries citizens. That is why lead painted toys are allowed to be exported from US to other countries. And that is why we rail at the "injustince" of poor Gabon being allowed equal vote like US has. Unless we accept the basic fact that all citizens of this Earth are same, we can't elect a guy like Ron Paul.
No Wonder my friend was able to afford a Lexus while i had to make do with a Toyota Camry (2005). Damn you Oracle: Why don;t you be a Microsoft and make it easier for novices to install a database instead of demanding a DBA do that...
Heck, i could not even get Optus to provide a telephone connection to my apartment in Ashfield, Sydney, let alone getting me a broadband. My employer was in Hurstville and he has a 2 Mbps broadband line as small business. Most of the time, the line was out and Telstra support sucked. If this is how broadband is going to be, i guess Aussies are worse off than Indians in reliability of broadband. My colleague who was in production support for Westpac Bank, was "advised" not to rely upon the company-funded broadband connection to his home to remote telnet into their servers as it was not reliable. If Westpac could say Telstra was unreliable (and they are as high as Woolworths), imagine for poor folks at home who see their modem lights blinking...
Heck, even in India (Chennai/Madras) my Tata broadband had a failure rate of 3 hours in a full year.
Good luck aussies. Telstra will deep fry your b....
The Dems are NOT a minority. That is all that counts. Like you rightly said, they should have let Bush have it their way or the highway. After all when Republicans were a majority, that is exactly how Bush treated Dems: "Either my way or the highway." All this talk of troops suffering is a lie. If we want our troops out now, stop the money and then publish reports in paper that un-patriotic defense contractors want money to supply even basic necessities. This would have forced Bush to sign a nationaliation bill, which would have escalated the issue further. The problem is, Bush does not follow normal norms. He is unconventional, has a devil-may-care attitude and is really not pissed off my democrats. Bush is the like the school bully who dresses shabbily, picks his nose, has a dare-me attitude, and is liable to beat anybody who doesn't agree with him. How do deal with a bully? Show him who's the boss ! The dems should have refused to send a blank check that enriches the contractors and United Defense (of which Bush family is a shareholder). And repeatedly brought impeachment charges against Cheney... Listen, if you want to create hell, u need to create one. Just like the republicans did for Clinton.
Be aggresive democrats. That is the only language Bush understands.
And if you are pussycats, remember that the next president will not be a clinton or an Obama, but will be McCain.
The Dems still think they are a minority. That is their problem.
Imprisoning a cop for delibrate failure to catch a criminal is a must. Giving the criminal the officer's bonus for not being caught is irony. This will be a double-slap against the officer and the force.
Anyways, for all their rhetoric, Democrats have not even budged an inch towards the stopping of the war funding since they get their campaign money from same defense contractors.
Its high time Ron Paul becomes a president rather than a clinton once again.
The democrats are not willing to do anything to correct this, because they know they need the same kind of violations when their president sits in white house in 2009. Its like the two sides of a coin: One side can't claim the other is bad without falling apart. So expecting democrats to censure or impeach Bush will simply not happen even if there is a second Boston tea party (which will be broken up violently after being classified as terror threat). The Democrats are afraid to even present bills for the same, since if they get passed their own president will not have the ability to violate like Bush did.
Since democrats have betrayed our trust by failing to pull out our troops, we should respond by electing a Republican president once again. Democrats are so smug that their candidate will win. It is time we showed them it is not possible. Yes i agree it is like cutting off the hand to prevent an infected wound from killing me, but still it will send a lesson to democrats and republicans that cheating electorate will not produce results. If Ron Paul wins the election am sure he will be a much intelligent, world-wise president than the single digit IQ, Toxic Texan we have as president now.
Actually i too love Sprint. Bought it based on my friend's recommendation and they have been true to their word in CT (new britain). Coverage is good, and customer service has been very good. I still don't know why Apple made iPhone as GSM when it plans it sell it only in US
Yup. I agree with you. Its because these neocons and the right-wing republicans got elected in first place... Making money off these is NOT a crime or morally wrong... Point to these neocons that even Jesus said: " let who is without blame cast the first stone..."
Sshhh.... keep quiet, else the neocons and McCains' would hear you and invade Venezuela...and make another iraq out of it?
Do you want to be drafted and sent to 'zeula to sweat in the 100'F strumming guitar and wearing a 100 pound uniform, while being afraid when your time's up????
Don't give our watch-losing-moron-prez any more ideas. Got it?
Its ironic isn't it? Most states are running budget surpluses, but still try to continue to rob the poor guy? What are the surpluses for then? To stuff the legislators' "friendly" contractors to build bridges to "nowhere"? or to shore up the rich snooty school with more lab equipment? Already the "no-tax-on-internet" has been abandoned and they tax you for buying on 'net. I do hope this guy's case is taken up Pro Bono and fought all the way to supreme court and the state loses miserably...
Ahhh those were the days when America liked kids to learn science, not sex after school. But since those kind of kids tend to question the Govt., It has slowly now toned down the science completly and instead displays would prefer a mud fight between Britney in nude and Paris in Jail costume... Even seen FOX show any such science show? NO They would prefer a Creationist Show, O'reilly, etc.
Halliburton, KBR go when we fight a war against the martians or we set up Gitmos in Mars. They would charge $23,000 for a hammer and $33,500 for a toilet seat, and send mercenaries to cover up things. BP and Exxon go when there is oil to be dug and sold at $65 a barrel even though it takes only $3 to dig up.
So BP would send a shuttle up to Mars using the recent advances in spaceship and then dig. When they get shoo-ed away by martians, they call in Bush to declare war on terror against martians who kill innocent miners. Cheney would jump and declare war, claiming executive privilege even before Bush does so, thus earning the eternal wrath of Cindy Sheehan. US would pass laws providing instant citizenship to non-US people who sign up for the military and agree to be sent to Mars. We would have Spaceship Troopers in real, and an TCP/IP network setup between Earth and Mars. A separate MarsTube would allow soldiers and KBR employees to upload videos and pics of US marines getting shot, etc.
Crude would be shipped from Mars to Earth to be refined and back again from Earth to Mars as Gasoline/ Diesel to feed the troops, thereby allowing KBR and Halliburton to earn money in billions.
Halliburton would move HQ to Mars Central to avoid taxes.
Next time, take the beer car out of your mouth long enough to type correctly with such a detailed story, kid.
I remember a FRIENDS episode when Ross writes a joke to Pl@yboy and Chandler claims it is his. Both announce to Joey [breathlessly] that their joke to Plyboy got published, when Joey injects and says: "Jokes ! You guys know they have nked pictures of ch1cks in there?"
I do not understand. Elucidate me please. Why is that a Mac is a wholesome experience (Hardware, software, apps, updates) and a Linux looks like it is made up spare parts scrounged around dealers? Its the difference between buying a fully-loaded Cadillac (with fuel) or assemble a Hudson Hornet from spare parts. Yeah the hudson can outrun the cadillac, and if am 20 years old, i will definitely like the thrill of wind blowing through my hair in a hudson whose top has blown away, but am happy since the engine is a V8.
BUT, not all the citizens of this world are 20 year die-hards. Some of them want a basic transport from work to office. Some of them want aesthetics. Some of them want a reliable transport long-distance. Some of them are arthiritic, and need the soft suspension of a cadillac. Some of them JUST WANNA DRIVE without worrying about fan belts, radiators, etc.
Pray tell me in percentile how many are the 20-years old die-hards again, when compared to the overwhelming majority of soccer moms and baseball dads?
Apple makes OS for 80% of the population who think similar. The rest 20% will always want the fastest, speediest, fanciest, hot-rodded, modifiable car. Sorry, Apple can't spend money to make them for the 20%. Because it gets most of its profits from 80% who pay 129 dollars for an OS. The 20% would need to pay 1029 dollars which they never will, hence Apple will not manufacture.
That is why i said Linux on Desktop of moms and dads will NEVER get off. Unless i have someone to shout at the other end of the line, and unless i can double-click to install without going through synaptic, and unless i can boot into a desktop without knowing what a KDE or a Gnome is, i will NOT even try out Linux.
It may be the perfect OS for you guys, but for me, a trader; Mac OS is the OS i can buy blindly.
(come on you mac fanboys i could use some support here...)
Linux is NOT, and will NEVER be a replacement for Mac OS X. In the same way just like a Ford Mustang from 1973 can never be a replacement for today's Lincoln Navigator. Please avoid such comparisons. It makes me puke whenever people say Linux is actually an equal to Mac OS X.
When US deploys missiles [targetting Russia] in Europe, it is for peace. But when Russia deploys its anti-missile missiles towards those missiles which threaten Rodina, Russia is a warmonger. Am very surprised.
On one hand, we have a Toxic Texan who is power hungry, mad and as stupid as Stalin was, and still thinks Saddam planned 9/11.
On the other hand we have an extremely intelligent, former KGB spook, infant who is flush with New Money and thinks the toxic texan is an aberration.
GREAT ! We have the same Stalin/Hitler combo in 2007.
Now lets wait for someone to launch the initial attack.
Actually No. Corporations are Persons for all the good things: Owning patents, etc. But not Persons for all the bad things: Crime, Criminal prosecution.
So even though you can criminally prosecute a corporation, you can't convict it to 100 years hard labor. Of course, you can convict a corporation... then what? Send all employees to 100 years? Or send a Ken Lay to prison? Or seize the capital like in case of Morgan Stanley or Goldman Sachs?
Personally when you or me get criminally prosecuted, our credit score takes a dive south, nobody offers us a job, and we are left penniless.
Similarly, when a corporation gets convicted, the corporate's credit score (there should be one) should dive south, companies should refuse to do business with them since that would mean dealing with tainted goods, and the company should be refused permission to sue others (leading to massive defaults by its debtors).
Within a year however big the company is, it would fold and die.
BUT, this would not happen, because our politicians are in the rolls of the very corporations.
Oh ! So topping a democratically elected government and replacing it with a King/Shah is perfectly ok? (Iran) Iraq was the most free society before this war. Ya, it was under a dictatorship, but it was still free religiously. You could practice whatever religion you want without fear of being blown up. And we attacked that state and replaced it with a fanatic state where people are blown up daily. Take S.Arabia for example: Most restrictive state. You can't even take your wife down to the mall without her covering up head to toe. And woe befall you if you publicly practice another religion. You can be beheaded. And we continue to support the autocratic regime there, even when we know 19 9/11 hijackers came from there. We continue to pump billions onto that country even when most of it flows only to top 10% of the king's family. Take the panama invasion for example. Panama took over the canal after John Carter's agreement with a free government. This irritated bushco family so much he engineered an invasion, drove the leader of a democratically elected government into the vatican embassy's hands, and ultimately was arrested and sentenced to jail in US. Say, suppose Italy courts (forget Iran) convict CIA for kidnapping an italian citizen, would the CIA head be handed over to Italy?
You say christian right supports democracy and rule of law. Since when?
Tell me, when did the christian right have ever done a right thing? No Seriously, tell me.
Take your head from the dirt-filled sand pit and breathe the fresh air of real world once. You will realize all Right is not right.

A twist would be: Does Ron Paul insist on promoting democracies in countries where monarchies and kings still rule?
What part of our meddling in other countries is permitted?
