  1. Re:My Two Cents on A Negative Review of Halo 2 · · Score: 2, Insightful

To avoid trolling I'll add that all the points made below are my own opinion, agree or not with them. Second of all, let me say I enjoy immensly Halo 1. I still play it regularily with my friends. Ninety percent of the MP levels suck, but that doesn't matter when you can play CTF in bloodgulch. That's where it's at. I agree with some of the finer points here: - weapons. The game's lacking what made the first one enjoyable - a weapon that kills without a billion shots. Seriously. I think we might have to set our sheilds to 50% to play this from now on (if it's an option, unsure) because watching someone take a full clip of assault rifle ammo at point blank range only to kill you, is stupid. - 2 team ctf - we haven't figured this out either. That sucks, it's stupid. - no bots - I like bots. they're fun. I think no bots was part of the idea of "no friends to play with? you can have unlimited friends for $7.99/month on xbox live" scheme from MS. - additional point - levels - they all seem cramped, and not very tweaked. I want levels with sweet spots and little gems, not seemingly random placements. Personally, I want a clone of perfect dark for a current-generation console. It's that easy, PD was hands down the most innovative console (possibly any) 3d shooter. Look at all it's options - bots mp, challenges, good levels, innovative weapons. Not to mention the scripted single player game, which looked pretty cool too. Endless fun. Not many games have as much to offer as PD, even still.

I too have a copy of this game, and while I agree that you can explore for awhile, there was no feeling of reward when your little cave men died and we went back to the hilarious chacter selection screen to pick the new midget caveman to run around.

I do remember having some fun with this game though. The greatest feeling was the running-sleeps. Anyone who's played the game knows what I mean. When the character gets tired enough, they fall asleep. Doesn't matter what they were doing. Fall asleep on a hill? Watch your character slowly slide into the water, and continue to emit z's until death.

Also, if anyone gets a chance to play this game, before you give up in exasperation check out the data information on the coloured things you pick up. Funniest in game stats I've ever seen.

after my first 3d experience was published in 2600 I decided to further the sport. Myself and a friend mounted two cameras side by side, and with a custom modded spca50x driver (had to add these cameras since they weren't supported by default) we could record left eye/right eye. Then we run them through a couple quick ImageMagick filters and mencode, and the result? 3d webcam video. Check it out: here.

If you're keen to try this yourself, you'll need a minimum of a 256MB memory card (or stream the image over a wireless network)

You can stream an image of your computer doing _anything_ to your pocket PC (VNC server for example). I don't see how this is another way to prove you can now install windows 98 on it.
