Had a bit of the same thing happening. Only I was fully aware that I would be dragged to the principal office for doing what I was doing. I knew I would be punished for what I was doing. That was the reason I waited till the teacher was gone.

Somehow the teacher was away longer then I had expected, so I stopped. We both sat down. When the teacher came back he knew something was wrong, because everybody was sitting very quiet.

It was pure luck that I did not get caught. I also was very well aware that if I was caught, I would have to face whatever punishment they would give me.

For me the valuable lesson become before I did the hitting: You are responsible for your actions. Look at the pro's and the con's and then decide if something is worth doing it. For me it was, even if they would have caught me.

It is not as if they would say: please transfer X amount from creditcard Y to my own account. What they do is a bit more complex. They are pretty good in hiding sales under the radar.
A way would be to verify each sale by an SMS or any other means. This will be extremely inconvenient for the user.
As with DRM, it will harm the good user more then the bad user.

Set up camp for weeks to be the first to buy tickets, a new phone, whatever. See that there are a LOT of people and that there is a LOT of news coverage to see the hype when the store opens.

Then you and your few hundred friends go in one by one and clearly state why you DON'T want to buy a ticket. (SOPA/Copyrights/...) Have a clear statement ready for the press who will be there. And be sure you do this to a company who deserves it.

As with everything it is supply/demand. The fact that you do not want the amount of money they ask for it does not mean that the business model is broken, just that sales is not a win/win situation.

If somebody wants to pay you 1UNITper hour to do work and you demand 8UNIT per hour, that does not mean the system is broken. It mean you have different views on the value it represents.

The fact that they made a shitload of profit should not mean anything to later transactions. You want to pay 1UNIT to see the movie. They want to receive 8UNIT to show it to you.

So at least one of you has to change their perspective to be able to close the deal.
If I go to a pub and they ask me 8UNIT for a drink and I only want to spend 1UNIT, then I will not get the drink, regardless of how well the business is doing.

Perhaps the price they ask is directly related on how well they do. If they would sell at 1UNIT, then they would be broke very soon and not be able to serve me any drinks at all.

Also Beethoven might have been rich today, that would not mean his offspring would be as well. His record producer would be and most likely he still would be dirt poor.

There are plenty of musicians today that are not rich. Some just like music more then they like money, just like some would never work for a specific company, no matter how much they like coding.
