When I need to get to a deadline, being calm helps me more than anything. I get to better results by being able to orden my thoughts. Unless the deadline is physical, faster (thinking) does not make me achieve my goal sooner.
That is a theoretical idea. In reality, if your job is meaningless, you will get fired. It could also be that the jib is meaningless to YOU. That does not make it meaningless.

On top of that (at least in Belgium) the company wouls also need to pay paid holdays 13th month, if that is a thing,extra social security, and some extra taxes. Some will go to the state and some will go to the employee. Plus any extra benefits other employees would gave gotten.
I am just not sure what Uber has to do with anything I learned 15 years ago and existed well before that.
I know a lot of consultants who legally could easily sue the company they work for. Especially those that work for several years for one company. Do contact a specialized lawer for advice. Most lawyers will have no idea.
They do that in several supermarkets in Belgium. Double winner, because people must use a storecard, so they can see you buying habbits and they can fire some people. Fraud it defeated by checking people at random. Toomuch failure and you probably are nit allowed to use it anymore.
I do not use it sopeople keep their job and my data is more valuable than my time. And the more vallue my time is, the more my data is valuable.
I pay with card.I live in Belgium and the Credit Card company can see where you bought it, but not what amd they are not allowed tp use it for marketing. Not even the fact of you bought online or at a store.

The CC company is allowed to use it for security so they can deetect fraude and blick your card if your pattern suddenly changes. But no "You bought a lot of porn online, why not buy some tissues, as you seem to be out of them." messages.
What roaming fees? This is Europe. There are no roaming fees anymore. And if you are outside Europe and have data enabled, you are an idiot that needs to pay.
Strange that you have no cpmpetition in the US and here I amn living in the communist country (accoding to stuped Mericans) of Europe and have the option of several companies with several offers at several speeds. I have real unlimeted and pay 40 EUR or so for 100M down and 30M up. There are cheaper and faster ones, but they will not be as unlimited.
And I live in one of the more expensive ones with not that many competition as others.

No way that they would rate people who tip higher. Or rate people who do not tip 'enough' get lower ratings. OK, it is not a tip, it is a voluntary financial initiative, because tipping is not allowed with Uber and they are not a taxi company, so giving money is not tipping. And if tipping IS allowed, then the same would apply.
It also explains why I hate it. If there is bad or no editing or bad sound I hate it. The is no excuse to yell "focus" to the camera and let me hear it.you reshoot and use voiceover or not use it and leave it on the cutting floor.
The last one was g om a ship sailing to greenland on a YouTube channel. Was nicer than the one I saw in Thaiti 5 minutes later or the one in the Alps kust after that. With my ohine I saw all that while outside.
The comments so far that I have read anout how this is bad are basically reduced to "This is an inconvinience for me." and then tryt to find another reason. So here is how it works in places where they are already doing this.
Instead of using a bag one time, you take a cotton bag that you can use many times over years. You take it with you when you go shopping. Sure, you will forget it a few times, but most people are not snowflakes and will start to remember, just like you remember to take your phone with you.
Where I live most people can not use the bag for trash anyway. You need to buy special bags for special garbage. So there is no gain there.
The single use items need to stop. I just bought 4 microSD cards and the amount of garbadge I got with it is immense. I get a SD sleeve (or whatever it is called) that I do not need. They are placed in a plastic that I do not need inside an even bigger plastic that is put inside a carton. That was the put inside a box that was filled with filling paper. 4 microSD cards Could have bneen send in an envelope, yet they decided to use the size of a small shoebox. I guess 99.9% waste.
I also use 1 use-based items, because I am as lazy as the rest (and perhaps even more so as I do this at work), yet I changed my behaviour in using plastic bags and I did not try to sweasel my way out of it and find excuses. I adapted my behaviour and after a month it was ok.
So now when I go shopping, I take two small nags that are both the size of a wallet with me. I always have at least one with me at all times in case I suddenly need it. Somethinglikethis and yes, they exist in other materials as well, but you need to search foir yourself as I am lazy and my shift is almost over.
A person told me he saved a Euro by running after the bus and not taking it. I told him he eas an idiot and should run after taxis and save a lot more.
There is a difference between saving and not spending as there is between not receeiving and loss.
Tell that to my dead mother, you incensitive clod. (No, she was not killed due to traffic. It was cancer. But she had several minor car accidents during her lifetime.)
If you only have two options, you do not have a democratic system, just like it is not a choice if the "Insurance Company" asks to break your left or your right leg after you coluntered to accept their protection for a fee.
