    although i'm a huge fan of gaim, the ubuntu guys are raving about another Jabber client. It's called Gajim

    from the site: Gajim is a Jabber client written in PyGTK. The goal of Gajim's developers is to provide a full featured and easy to use xmpp client for the GTK+ users. Gajim does not require GNOME to run, eventhough it exists with it nicely. Gajim is released under the GNU General Public License for windows, & lots of linux distros including an auto-package ...package.

    this is INCREDIBLE. this is referring to the documentation. It's very complete, the only thing missing is how he hacked his verizon phone. this, lo behold, was in a previous slashdot story

    I did a little research myself and it turns out that there is one project on sourceforge in prealpha for linux that's GPL'd. Maybe after my finals i'll help with some patches..

    i see a way to use google maps API by continuously updating the source address when your GPS "address" changes and using the number of miles left until the next turn, and using EPOS to convert text to speech: turn right at upcoming ford street.

    ps: this guy made me want to save up some cash and have one of my own

    also google video gives you access to some fox newscasts.

    This show definitely did it for me. He taught me more than just individual science projects; he taught me that "science is cool".

    If were a kid today and watched his show, I definitely see a lot more of my time (as a kid) going on the internet to learn (howthingswork.com) rather than playing games and chatting on AIM (which is what I see a lot of kids do today).

    If someone is piggybacking on your network, all of their traffic leads to your IP address. If they are hosting illegal music, the RIAA will get a subpeona for the IP carrying it... YOURS. You get the 4500 $ fine.

    by telling you this, i may be saving you a lot of trouble by not being ignorant about your property. but then again, "why should i care?"

    this may have been more than MS dipping their toes into Open Source. Although the obvious reason to open windows forms is to allow easier ($) development onto windows, they may just be testing what developers will do with the code. Was it added onto? did opening allow for free development (goodbye outsourcing)?

    opening windows api also has spread development (see .net)

    i see more open source in MS's future, but only to spread development for apps on windows.

    Shouldn't this be placed in IT? I wish we had more "Linux" articles, all the ones that make it usually end up on the front page. This is great but it's always a little surprise to see one hiding. Ok, I'm gonna go back to playing with my penguin.
