  1. The important question... on Rovers May Survive Martian Winter · · Score: 5, Interesting

Even though I RTFA, I still don't know when spring will come on Mars. If I remember correctly the Martian year is about twice as long as Earth's year (or was it?). But what about the seasons?

No, it wouldn't have saved him, you insensitive clod. RTFA!

Please note that you cannot submit a whole site to FreeCache as in http://freecache.org/http://www.rocklobsters.com/ This will not work as only index.html will be cached. You have to prefix every item that you want to have cached seperately.

Also it wouldn't have done much good for a CGI script, now would it?

  5. Gaming mobile? on Are Mobile Carriers Slowing Down The Mobile Games Market? · · Score: 3, Interesting

I don't know about the States, but even though here in Europe people do have phones they could play games on, I hardly know anybody that does so. Say you enjoyed Tony Hawks on your [PS2/XBox/PC/whatever], then you'll most likely go rolling on the floor laughing when you see the phone version...

Are there any games that are worth buying an expensive phone for?

Cool, so you will be able to lose your personal data including your address, your house and car keys, your credit card details and/or any kind of money card perhaps + the phone you could use to block access to these things all at the same time.

Well, if "tapping" two devices together would initiate and auto-configure a simple ad-hoc WiFi connection, start the data exchange, then stop the connection again, this technique will be great. Think about the speed improvement of Irda vs. Bluetooth vs. an .11g network...

  10. FireWire Audio devices... on Mac OS X 10.3.4 Released · · Score: 4, Interesting

Well, it really seems to improve compatibility with my M-Audio Firewire 410 audio card. It now connects immediately, where before I had to try at least twice most of the time. Also the preferences are saved more reliably it seems, where before you needed to be lucky and do some odd standby/reboot combinations for preferences to be saved...

    Thanks Apple!
