    They are ok for what exactly? You can't do too much with them.

    Kinda expensive for a portable web browser.

    Soon 100mbps will be dead in Australia at least.
    With 50mbps and 100mbps internet plans readily available you'd need gigabit at least to avoid the internet slowing down your network or vice versa.

    My carrier lets me log in to a web control panel which gives me really fine grained control.
    No premium SMS? Sure, easy.

    It can enable/disable:
    - International
    - Special numbers (1800, 1300, etc.. - Australian)
    - Premium numbers
    - MMS
    - SMS
    - Regular numbers.

    So if you just want a sim for your kid but don't want them txting then you can disable everything except regular phone calls and it will block even text messages.

    They also email regularly to remind you to block premium sms.

    It is a very bad security risk (especially for a bank) if for some reason that router starts trying to send that data outside. A simple misconfiguration could do it easily.

    Then all your secret internal bank data is being sent to the Chinese.

    No the bricked laptops are still bricked. This just stops more laptops from falling to the same bug.

    There's even a group within Christianity who refuse to call themselves 'Christian' as they believe the term has become broadened to the point of losing all meaning, and instead call themselves 'Christ-followers.' These things really screw with survey attempts.

    Take away their tax benefits and they'll clarify their position very quickly. ;)

    Power generation is only using 2 forms. The geothermal is only a heat pump for temperature regulation not power generation.

    They are still dependant on coal/gas/nuclear of course. Cloudy day + no wind doesn't mean that the store will be closed.

    I use an accountant because my tax isn't simple.

    However here in Australia if your tax is simple to moderately complicated you can easily file it using a government program called e-tax. Been around for years (and looks like a Windows 3.1 program).
    It guides you through everything as a wizard fill in the blanks sort of thing. Very simple.
    It even grabs your data from previous years so you don't sit there filling out the same info every time. It knows who you are.

    Its funny that Windows 8 is starting to sound like what Linux was a few years ago and Linux is far closer to 'just works' now.

    "Windows 8 is great! Now after you install it go to this link, download the app and follow the instructions. That will make your computer usable."

    Because both ends of the landline call need to be regulated. It has nothing to do with the computer aspect of it.
