I think you're out in the blue here. Black and White has been developed by Lionhead, Peter Molyneux is no longer with Bullfrog. The Black and white project has been going on for something like 2-3 years, and this was set from the beginning. As Peter himself said it, he wanted to be able to take his time and get it right, and this was possible by creating Lionhead and backing it with his own fortune. So I don't think it's the mess you seem to think it is.

The downfall with E2, is that there's a lot of bullshit and crap on it. People tend to write teeny write-ups in vain attempts to be funny instead of actually writing any information worth having. Something along the lines of E2 but with more information-dedicated writers would be perfect. Add in a repository of interesting text/media and perhaps some kind of moderators/moderator system and it would rock.

Err. I read your comment and thought it sounded REALLY odd for being Metallica. After just 1 minute on the site, I quickly learned that the forums was for members in the Metallica Fan club. That is the 25$ was for becoming a full member of the Metallica fan-club during a year, getting access to special tickets, newsletters, etc etc. It wasn't 25$ for just posting and reading to a forum. Check your facts before you speak. (And yes, I'm kinda fond of Metallica, but no extreme fan. I don't even have all CDs).

There's no way Sweden's legal system or ISP will agree on this. If they do I'll be severly shocked. "It's different with copyrights, there's nothing in the law stating that a copyrighted text should not be obvious. All it needs to be is original, i.e. never having been written before. "

Actually that's not entirely true, a work is copyrightable when it's of such nature that it's unlikely it would be spontaneusly duplicated without knowing the original. Ergo, a very obvious text, such as "Hello World!" ;) , could not be copyrighted, since many individuals could come up with it without having seen it before.

The swedish goverment gave extreme tax reductions to all companies (private and the states) who sold computers to their employees. The computers were extremly cheap, good ones with good backup and warrants. Almost all swedish companies jumped on the bandwagon, pressing the computersales in sweden at a new all high. This singlehandedly spread computers into a lot of homes, that didn't have one before. So Ford was in no way revolutionary with this.
