unfortunately the politicians don't know its not a workable plan. Maybe if they spoke to someone who could explain how dumb it was before they get on a CNN press confrence we could stop this. maybe instead of making laws to restrict porn we could make laws to make sure politicians check the technical feasability of a plan before they run with it...

when they finish restricting porn from port 80 maybe they can also restrict all of those potty-mouth websites who use naughty language, and after that they can supress all speach to easily blockable ports! we could just copy the chinese system and build a national firewall so we dont have to listen to the rest of the silly world.

Not neccisarily, by one quantum bit changing can be measured because it influences a number of other bits in a uniform way. I think you could imagine one gear spinning that drives a set of other gears, as the quantum bit changes it changes the whole setup of the capacitor so it is evident which way the bit was moving without changing its spin by measuring it. you change the spin of one of the bits in the capacitor, not all of the bits or the original bits

  12. High Priced Because of Demand on Modular PC Handtop Review · · Score: 4, Insightful

I saw the $1990 pricetag, and I'm not suprized, most of these types of PCs are not attempting to get a deep market saturization, so the price reflects the lack of demand. they need to recoup the initial development costs, and thus it seems pricy. there are some critical applications I could see it used for, such as occupations with a high amount of movement between desktops (IE a person who travels alot for the company) they could have the desktop at the office, and also have a laptop so their workstation goes where they go. also I can see it in the medical field where doctors can walk around and access charts digitally, then dock at a PC to do research. it certainly is not designed with common AOLer use in mind, though I could even see it being really useful on a college campus...

I could see it all being done by robot. Prefab houses are not new, they have been around since the Levitt towns of the 1940's the houses might be assembled on production line in a factory then shipped to the site, then an assembly bot would work from there. the robot would just need to place all the components, probably on a predetermined foundation. as long as the peramiters dont shift much the bot shouldn't have too much trouble.
