The last time I had a problem with windows networking, Vista or XP, was trying to connect to a Windows 98 machine, or a Linux machine, or an Apple machine.
Its also worth noting that IPv6 is loaded on default in an effort to promote the protocol. More significantly, i fail to see how an IPv6 protocol would have any possible affect on a printer which does not use IPv6. Since Vista uses both simultaneously, if it isnt broadcasting a v6 address, it uses a v4 address instead.
You can use those debit/check cards online, yes, but not a true plain old fashioned debit card, given to you by your bank, and not sponsored by Visa or MC, etc.
It said NOTHING about a nationalized license. Its just using it as a catch-all.
Man. You people are WAY too psychotic sometimes.
I think it sounds like a great idea. It wont necessarily be your only card, so if something weird does happen, you can still use it. You cant use (regular) debit cards online, so if your license is suspended, chances are you won't be able to use it anywyays. Of course, it would still be stupid if a suspended license meant you cant use the debit side of the card.
I'm selling my car. Thankyou for showing me the light. Here i was, all this time, thinking I actually need the extra space and power, and appreciate the extra comfort, when it turns ive been running over kittens and filling my car with puppies.
Thankyou so very, very much.
Shouldn't you also be telling me to quit smoking, quit drinking, that drugs are ok, that Wal Mart is evil (damn them and their cheap prices people can afford!), and that Mac Donalds is the reason the world is coming to an end?
While i appreciate (albeit very mildly) your totally worthless, idiotic statement, do you honestly expect to do anything?
Did it ever occur to you that some people NEED the extra features? You can drive in your Prius all you want - but those seats feel like rocks, and they have virtually no space. Plus, you ever try going up a hill in one of those things? If you live anywhere that isn't flat, you're screwed, or at the very least, using gasoline most of the time anyways.
Breakthroughs are always good. Always. Theres a reason people buy SUV's - its definitley not becuase they walked up to the salesman and said "I want the biggest, most expensive, most wastful car on the lot."
Thats not to say that there arent some people dont buy them just for the TPS (Tiny Penis Syndrome) factor - but thats not like this is a new thing. There have been extravagant cars around for DECADES. Why are suddenly whining about it now?
-Red - Proud owner of a beautiful 2000 Chevy Impala. 24MPG in city. Its called "BALANCE" asshat.
I actually had non idea Jean Claude van Damme was from there - im a Bruce Lee fan. Its unfortunate - after watching his movies, i cant watch any other martial arts movies. They all make me laugh. And its usually filled with comments like "Thats impossible." or "That wouldn't even remotely work on another human being, much less in a real fight."
So, there you go. The root of the issue is exposed.
You know, i figured it would just be an honest - but i guess on Slashdot, no bought of lazyness goes unpunished. I really am awfully sorry for not knowing the capital of Belgium - can you name the capital of all of the countries i mentioned, without looking it up? If you can, thats truly excellent - i cant. And you know why? I was never taught them. And i dont think thats bad - i know where they are, i can find them on a map, i have a general idea of their climate. There is absolutely no reason to know the capital of every country. Even the major ones. I honestly dont even think its necessary to know the capital of your OWN country - they serve no purpose. They do not have a real function anymore - with the internet and news channels (its ok, i dont watch them) very little actually "happens" there. Yeah, its nice to know your own countries capital (Which is Ottowa by the way), but honestly, what can you do with that knowledge?
I look at it in a practical light - and no, it does not impress the ladies. I also dont plan on being on a game show any time soon, so i think im ok.
But, yeah, i made a booboo. It made sense to me becuase England has almost no rights anymore, and i would understand something asinine such as this taking place in England (whose capital is London), not in Belgium, which i had assumed was a pretty "normal" place.
So tell, me how has knowing the capitals of countries helped you? Maybe i am honestly misguided, in which case ill scour Wikipedia all night in search of the elusive capital.
While we did cover STD's in school, they pretty much always ended up saying "But the best prevention is abstinence."
I can't think of a single time where anyone EVER said "Maybe i shouldnt have sex. Abstinence is best." Garbage.
It should be SAID, yes - abstinence is the safest. But that should a piece of the pie - not the pie, with which other information is a part of. All of it relevant.
And hes totally right - fanatics of all sorts (religious or not) have seriously screwed up the States. The whole education system is a mess - usually becuase they are trying to cater to one whiny group or another.
And im awfully sorry that i didnt know the capital of Belgium.
Really, i am. Coming from Vancouver (the capital of Canada), my heart goes out to those Belgians. I guess i must have been asleep that day in class - or i was busy getting laid. My bad.
But, that IS Japan. Their rights arent exactly growing on trees either... but fair enough.
And actually.. thats not really how Lineage 2 works. The only way he could do that is if he trained them (which is not "beating them up") or they where red, which is part of the game.
"The assailant was a character controlled by a software bot, rather than a human player, making it unbeatable."
Bullshit. I used to kill bots all the time. They couldnt think, so they proved to be much easier. Plus, a nightmare shield and an earring of wisdom isnt exaclty "high value" goods.
So, no, youre article, while intersting at first, sounds like a giant pile of bullshit. Nice try though. You almost had me.
I dont reallt think the point is that nothing should be done, its that the government shouldn't be involved.
If you steal $100,000 (real dollars) of items and gold from someone in WoW, would you get arrested by the government? I would hope not, but you bet your ass your account would be banned.
Once again, this is a story about the government overstepping its bounds - not about what constituted as illegal or not.
And besides, Brussels is in England, right? I'm surprised theyre still allowed to use the internet at all. Im sure some psycho is going to equate online gaming to terrorism or crime, and then itll be banned. I honestly feel bad for these people, too - most of my family is english. Thank god none of them live there anymore.
Wow. Thats totally different from the ALC i went to.
Mine wasnt exactly rose bushes and fairy tales - the razor wire was a bit creepy. But all of that? Man. We didn't even have a dress code - you could wear what you wanted. Backpacks, the like.
That, my friends, is definitley a big issue. I really hope people are raising hell - that guy should not go there.
Reminds me a bit of Office Space... Looks like hes going to Federal-Pound-Me-In-The-Ass Prison.
Im glad you smoke pot and so desperatley attempt to make it "ok", but seriously, shut up. Did i even say that drugs made people violent? No. Many of them do, for many reasons, from an overdose to withdrawal to "thats how they get feel it." Its rediculous. Don't do drugs at school. Its just like getting drunk at school.
Apart from that, i do think that the restrictions put on pot are pretty stupid - putting a pot smoker into ALC would be just as stupid as putting the guy the story is about in ALC. Thats doesnt make smoking pot "ok", but that does make overzealous punishment "idiotic".
Besides, ANY mind altering act (be it sex, drugs, alchohol, anything) done to get away from emotional pain will always get worse. Doing it for fun or socially is fine - just like drinking alchohol, its ok in moderation.
Speaking of moderation, maybe you outta give it a try. Lay off the speed.
No, Alternative Learning Centers actually just low-budget high security schools with no extra classes. I've been to one, and its pretty much just Math, English, Gym, Science, go home. Ironically, the teachers there where some of the best ever, and good god was it ever easy. I should have stayed - id have graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
But really, sending him there is retarded. He's going to be there with a bunch of people who deserve to be there - drug addicts, violent people, unstable people, etc. Hes in danger - hes probably a nerd, and wont be very good at defending himself. ALC's (Alternative Learning Centers) are the worst places to send anyone "good" - its like throwing a kitten into a pack of rabid wolves.
Its hard to say that some people shouldnt be in there - i remember i looked across the room at this guy, and he freaked out, like in the movies:
"What are you looking at?"
"Nothing."
"So what, im nothing to you?"
"No, i was just looking across the room."
"What, im not good enough for you?"
There really are people like that out there, and i unfornately do agree that some people should be in there. That guy was quite ready to severely injure me - had the teacher not told him to shut up, i woulda been hit with a chair.
Of course, zero tolerance is what got me put in the school, and this poor guy is there for the same reason. What it boils down is that Zero Tolerance is what is garbage - and only the unstable nutjobs and hardcore drug addicts should be in ALC's.
A good example - but one out of how many hundreds of governments around the world? I think India also has an excellent government that routinely hamperes business in the interest of the people, which is totally awesome. It really is.
But what about everyone else? The US, Canada, and others? The corrupt, the power hungry, the zealots? I certainly think government has a very important function to perform, and if we can count on them to not abuse it, then absolutely, its excellent. But, do you really trust your government to take care of you? In every situation you may need it?
Do you really think you can trust a stranger to honestly care about you, number 151-1522-351?
Good point, but i suppose my opinion is that local governments are less bad than federal government. The federal governemnt has more power, and therefore, is more corrupt. Local government consists of people who live in that area, and therefore, hopefully have a certain respect for the area. Or something like that.
Everyone hates big companies, right? Then aren't little companies evil too?
Man, you must be doing something wrong.

Not only that, but i wouldnt trust education to give you the honest truth about it anyways.

And i thought you had to pay extra or something?
I do miss them though.

Hey now.
No need to bring racism into this.

Canada, England, Ukraine, Iran, Iraq
Hard countries to name:
Greenland, Iceland, Uzbekistan, Ireland, Brazil, Nicuragua, Argentina, Italy, Sicily
Is that better?

They are called GM's, and they have a "ban-hammer".
Of course, thats more of a command-line thing than an actual high-speed police chase (news at 11!), but still. They do exist.
This is not news.
