I've seen it in movies. What's to stop someone from using this technique?
I took that tour a few years ago...

At the time I'm pretty sure there were some college still woring with (read: Funding) the folks there as there aren't too many other places like it on the planet for that kind of biological research. Maybe they ought to seal the thing up & forget about it for a few milennia. Maybe something will
evolve its way out.
The rumors are abounding about new apple hardware and software with deep pricing discounts (offering Motion for so cheap) that it makes me believe that this could realistically be a $99 buy which would make it a steal.
If they price it at $199 (the next Apple-logic price point) and a newly rumored $499 PC i'd almost have to go with the PC just to get the software!
I'll likely wait untill Tiger either way as there's also a possibility (in my mind) of a package deal with the whole ball of wax.
I'm really hoping that Lucas has listned to the critics and will make this one a lot less for the kiddies than the last two.
He's really come to rely upon the whiz-bang way too much and left a lot of the storytelling out. The money has gone to his head and at this point it's less about the film itself and more about the marketing opportunites. What he fails to realize is that the average movie going audience is vastly different today than they were in the late 70's. I can see better special effects anywhere, but a compelling story?
At least there are no photos of Jar-Jar.

There's just no way that you can solve this problem with politics. It's one the/. crowd will have to solve. Even if I wanted some physical vigialntie justice, I can't afford to track down some spamer in Russia.
I'm really thinking it's a 2 pronged problem and, like the rest of you I have (at least) 2 addresses, deviding the issue in half. Only a few select people get one and the minor amount of spam I get there is easily filterable. The other one is a web based account. I don't pay for it; they can fill 10-20% of my allready mostly filtered free (as in beer) space with all the spam they want.
Seriously tho, whitelisting is the real solution, but even I may be too lazy for that.
Er... I think that many folks would rather spend a little time jut doing the research themselves, instead of forking over their hard earned $25. I just pointed out the most pertinent information (yes, to me) in the review.
Unlike you, who instead of offering any information, or opinion, only tried to insult me. THAT's what Slashdot is all about? if other's think otherwise, they'll mod accordingly.
Of course, it's true that you can find a lot of this on the web by yourself without having to pay for a book, so part of your decision about buying it will depend on whether you care more about spending $24.95 or saving yourself some time.
I would think that the 'obvious' would also include a limited energy supply for roof heaters out in the middle of a arctic ice sheet.
However, one with a semi flexible roof that could be flexed to shed off ice & snow or at least angled instead of the flat looking ones from the pictures.....
As long as the current base is operative, could the thing just be towed a few miles or however far the thing has to go? Of course it might actually be worthwile to ditch the old one & start new, but why give up on a perfectly good building?
There are a few that do, but it's not a real cheap arena to get into, and with IP telephony around the corner, most of the cable companies dont' really want to stick their necks out on an old world technology.
Astound Broadband offers telephone via sub contractor, so it's not a big money maker, but it does bring in those customes who want the convienence of having one bill for cable/internet/telephone.
The standard telephone line is definately going he way of the dodo bird. Nobody new wants to get on that train and those who are on it are barreling towards oblivion.
Are you saying to edit your.plist for DVDSP? I don't remember doing so for my simple iDVD install. Or are you saying to do so for OSX?

They suggest offshore platforms that would convert energy to Hydrogen.
Yeah, but as I noted earlier, they missed a great opportunity. why number 36? Shoulda been 42!
Man i can't believe it!
They think that digital watches are still pretty neat, but didn't put it at number 42! They ought turn their geek cards in!

My thoughts exactly.... I'd bet the farm that the movie & the lego set will be simultaneously released.
;-)
Your kids' legos? What kind of a geek lets kids play with their legos? They're mine! All mine!
