I RTA, and thought it funny how this is the same nation that was building that humongous damn project to get their energy from, and then it hit me, maybe it was the same project, that they now had to sideline because of the magma flow, can anyone tell me if this is the case, I saw the project on mega machines, where they showed the damn being built and was a world wonder in terms of architectural integrity, but also construction (special machines designed for just this job), I wanted to know if anyone could pinpoint the project that was sidelined...
On a serious note, before we start playing with digging up holes where magma could come out from (infinitely) and spew the crap all over us, could we not say....master solar and wind and and other safer alternatives first before we go this route...I mean, are we that starved that we are going after ALL options at once....someone even came up with the waves of the ocean creates energy enough to charge batteries with, so , I think we do not really need this tech just yet....
This is where a great organization like (xxx) could go in, sell these dummy softwares to (xxx) nations, and with the profits, pay themselves a little bit, and donate the rest to say...open up some special clinics where the doctors there give out free medical and supplements to those said babies...sort of new age robin hood if you will....but alas, my skills are not that great, my BS is too obvious, would need a great talker on the team to make it work...
It is about time cops became a bit more pro active with the parents about the security of their child....it is so easy these days to post things... I had a niece who supposedly had her login for facebook hacked, and had a friedn change her status to "gives the best bjs" Much to her aunt's dismay, who told the parents imm., her aunt saw the post and thought why would someone put this on their profile....I would tend to think that it was more of a "look how lost my parents are, I can say whatever I want on my facebook and they know nothing..." style attitude.
I did not voice my opinion, but I know these things, and razzing, and initiations are all things still very present in our education system today. With a bit more "GOOD" parent interest in their kid's lives, without being too intrusive, you can get a better kid in the end...who knows the diff. between respecting her privacy, and just not caring.
The Chinese gov. will not recognize this coming from a) a small state court, maybe and MAYBE only supreme court. b) they would not recognize allegations against them from a nation that is guilty itself of doing the same, and also of a country that when confronted with the truth about its invasion of iraq, was neglecting to show any proper information of WMDs.
This would be like being brought to court by a crack whore who says you broke into her house and stole something, the credibility is just not there...for the rest of the world anyways....as for this small court house in xxx, I really feel bad for the judge who agreed to review this case, he will become a laughing stock no matter what his ruling.
No facebook at the job, is what they are now able to do, block the sites, etc.... but for them to go so far as to say if you work here, you are belong to us, sounds way to close to big brother bending you over.
regardless of just how good these fake personas are, they still need real friends, and real communication to look real, and unless this new "app" they are creating is an AI intelligent enough to simulate real conversation and real posts, I would say the flag will go up real quick as to what is fake (or useless) and what is real.
Unless they had bosses that were under the gun and willing to take that risk, and no matter how many time the architects told them not to do it, they said cut the corners and let's get it out there....happens to me all the time, and if it fails, guess who gets thrown under the bus.
Well, nuclear is one, and fusion is another...even though we are being postponed on these 2 for reasons unknown by the gov., maybe they do not want little nuclear cells the size of a hand running your car engine, so that if you bought 20 cars, you would have enough for a small nuc bomb....and same for fusion, once the fusion has become available enough for reg. joe's to use and have, it wont be long before hackers would break it down to know how it works and tweak it, and therefor become self sustaining, as the merger of hot and cold to create the fusion needs nothing other then the casing , everything else is free (the heat, AND the cold).
It all boils down to becoming self healing in the end, and being able to fix ruptures in whatever was created with this material. The material can self heal based off certain molecules that would be passed off from the surface area from one "sector" to another.... this would require a mapping of what the quickest road would be to send the molecules to fix the wound...or rupture. This would obviously use nano tech to do what it needs to do such as programming to know what road is the shortest etc....but in essence, the same as the ants.
TYVM, i appreciate having someone put it in laymen's terms, so that the rest of us non scientist folk can understand the impact, when you explained it this way, that the heat is what is important to killing the cancer, it made sense.
With a heading like this, too much is left to the imagination, I thought 80% of browsers out there in use are vulnerable, and if that is all, I would say redundancy is useless. Stating the obvious, such as any application made by man, will be error prone....so any browser running out there, is obviously flawed, no news here, move along...
Being a prog, I can tell you my reason why I would block flash....the worst piece of crap possible with still so many vulnerabilities, you thought 100 monkeys were left in a room with a keyboard and eventually got flash. The problem also but good business sense on adobe's part (dont get me wrong, they are geniuses of business), is that flahs is so popular and free that every machine usually has flash, something like 99% of pcs out there running windows....so that is just another attack vector (*1000) to allow someone to get root.
Apple is all about security and trust of the apps running on their OS, and this again is good business sense , if you want to pride yourself that there are almost no apple viruses, and yes the argument of not being as popular, or it could just be, the coders took their time to write the code properly...with security in mind....although there will always be situations you could not think of...such as when a third party is installed on the machine with root priv. then this is something that is sandboxed, but not in windows...oh nos...
Nothing changes, the more time goes on, the more it all looks the same. >In a press release, the DHS praised themselves for taking down those ten websites, but completely failed to acknowledge their massive blunder. My point exactly, how many times have we heard of plunders associated with different government operations, where they try and state the obvious about the good it does, but forget to mention the lack of proper understanding, and organization could have avoided 84k websites going down, instead they could have just focused more on the problem, but did not want to a) spend more money doing it, easier to take down a whole DNS then a few websites) or b) learning what needs to be known about something before acting....in this case, HOW could we take down a few websites without disrupting others, I am sure there is half we don't care , and the other half we don't know how....scenario to this problem.
Dell is also about the bottom line, and in the end, it will make it cheaper to buy their products if they cut out the middle man and have no worries about paying points on cost to make a profit, if they are already making profit on the overall sale. good for everyone this merger, dell will no doubt flourish with this deal, stocks will go up, until the next lack of support fiasco shows up
I know in the big picture, 20 years from now, where they want to be, and this is a great first step to accomplishing just that....watch out everyone, facebook is here to stay....
if you do not know what I am talking about, the first co to hook all types of data formats into one from medical to drivers licenses to government to banking etc, etc, etc....is the winner.....
Google might be able to stay in the running if they expand their gmail to include more of a solid cross platform API for anyone wanting to hook into, like facebook....because right now, gmail is lagging behind on this, and hotmail is non existant.
I am sure they are being paid off somehow, whether it is with orgy nights with some celebs, and supermodels from hollywood or what not, but in the end, I am sure the taxman is very aware of what it is losing, but maybe does not seem to care because of said exchange.
I know, because these same companies that say are hurting, are declaring that harry potter 6 had to go bankrupt....600 million dollars they owed and now do not, creative accounting, they use a dummy company hp6 to get all the expenses, then declare loses on the movie, which we all know made 700 million, so how does this work? paramount charges the hp6 company for everything from toilet paper to renting sets to renting movie cameras etc...and drive the prices sky high so that the company is hopelessly broke, and then files for chapter 11...all the while making their money and interest on that money.....when they say that piracy is rampant....
Seriously, if I was able to not watch another movie, I would do so to boycott hollywood...but alas, I need my fix.
I think we are starting to see a trend....anything that people do not need to upgrade, they do not, who needs a octo core computer when surfing the web, or windows 7 when xp does the job just fine, or a regular 10/100 router, when the 10gb are available... in the end, it boils down to the computer sector was overpriced for many eyars, and now we are seeing the true value of things.....gone are the days that laptops used to sell for about 2000$ when bestbuy has trouble moving the 250$ netbooks which are twice as powerful as the last gen laptops.....gone are the days of having to pay 400$ for an extra 200gb external drive when I can get a tera for 59$ at bestbuy.... it shows that yes prices are down, but had they been down to begin with we would not see such a flop...because people would not have needed a second mortgage to get a family computer/station going.
I for one welcome our vs M$ laiden overlords....in the end it also makes you more valuable as more possitions are available to you, then say an advanced shell and perl programmer for running cron jobs on a linux server running 7.2...because they just cant afford to pay you.
If someone sees that I buy a lot of stuff from bestbuy, and that I am a programmer because I have accounts on sqlserver.com and vb.net mag.com and also see i post a lot about tech stuff on/., etc...etc... guess what , they wont bother sending me spam about viagra, they will send me spam about the latest tech stuff for sale, which is just fine by me....allows less spam making it's way into my mailbox....
Nice to see we can fit all of the info on one piece of paper, as a number and say ok, if we need to back up the internet, this is how much space we need.
I tend to think so many people really fail to see the overall big picture, that M$ ships bad products, and take forever to patch it, and then charge you an arm and a leg for it..... if I could be king for just one day (that would be M$ king), I would roll out free patches for ALL systems, even the pirated ones, then also offer a free upgrade to windows7 for 25$ for all copies of xp..... over night you would see many things disappear, of which many viruses and problems would be a start, also, a lot less expenditures on security or support for old bad products. Alas, this will never be so.

Well, hopefully in 30 years from now, our tech will have come so far that this type of process will be achievable quite easily with what we have.

mmmm....funny, but I wonder how many friends disassociated themselves by blocking him as soon as they heard, even worse ...how many didn't
