    I dont think so, I think it's also part of a bigger plan, that they have. They want to be able to access all people, no matter what the communication style, cell phone radio, tv, etc....the president needs to be able to address all of his people, not some....
    I think this also has a bigger means of allowing access to the military that want to be able to have access to all that is electronic in terms of communication....so if you have a cell, they want you to use something that they can track easily, it's usually a first step to something bigger.....probably in 10 or 20 years from now, we will see the full image....now we are just seeing the first step.

    breaking through to the girl in a mature and teaching manner. No let's just keep talking sh*t all the time in people's backs, yeah that's it,
    this definitely shows the kid, that 1) you can't trust anyone, not even your supposed teachers, 2) no matter how good you do, there will always be some out there that do not try to help you, they only try to undermine you, 3) that this is the world we live in....

    I hope the girl can find a good tutor for awhile until they change her schools.

    Worst is, there probably is enough garbage in there to keep the drives intact, from atmospheric effect. I wonder if we combed the
    garbage dumps and got lucky and found one, if it would still be readable. The only way to really undo a drive, is to take out the cylinders and break them....takes about 5 minutes if you know what you are doing.

    More stories to drive the price of oil up again...yeah, yeah.....but we all saw the oil spill in the gulf, and saw that it was a well that was closed for being supposedly unprofitable, and yet it was leaking up to a 100,000 barrels of oil per day...or more..?
    They also stated in a separate review, that in the gulf there are (since 1047) about 67,000 of these supposedly non profitable oil wells...
    of which BP owns 1000. These wells are closed, but can be reopened....so guess what I do not see why we need to worry, and pay more, as there is no shortage, only shortage to make the shiks richer....and I am tired of making them richer..

    Also, they have whats called a darknet, made of up of bought up fiber from backbone ISPs that went under....I think even if they were disconnected, they would still be connected, technically, although do not quote me on this, it is here say....maybe someone with networking wizardry can confirm?

    I do not understand how someone working for Pepsi could be fired for drinking Coke, I mean really, if that was the case, someone working for dove could get fired for using soap from irish spring, etc....the list is endless of lack of common sense situations that could be twisted in such a way to make the employee seem totally disloyal....bread, cereal, soap, shampoo, really, the list IS endless.

    So if you are being watched that closely, you must have done something else for you to bring those eyes upon you, since no one in upper management at Pepsi really care about the lowly workers down below.

    I understand, but most columnists (is that the proper term for here?) tend to over exxagerate the heading, or change it so that you really don't know if its good sh*t or bad sh*t. Sort of like buying drugs, you need to test it first before actually buying it...so unfortunately we are stuck in this broken down system of ours here at /.

    Any computer I get, I flush the OS anyways, as I can never guarantee how it was installed or if there is no malware already on it.
    I usually reinstall linux or xp, and then move on from there, anything else I need is usually that, when I need it...so my machines usually stay pretty fresh and fast for a long time...before needing to reformat, but I use ghost for that to avoid the whole lengthy process...

    I agree, it boils down to their not giving in to terrorist attitude....but when your typical grandmother becomes a terrorist only because she left her computer plugged in and had some malware or trojan running, and that the acting bodies of the government are too blinded by their own power to see the forest for the trees, I tend to wonder if it is such a wonderful government after all.

    I read the article to see that this was true hacking, some twitter accounts were compromised, and people's personal data was found, such as address and cell phone info...I guess if someone wants to they can track anyone down, who has not already thought of hiding themselves, but I wonder how they would fair against someone who off the bat, thought against being found, and acted accordingly in their every scenarios....

    In the end, the message was made evident...screw with us, you get burned....they are sending a message, at first was just enough to let them know that they supported assange, and wikileaks, but not enough to deal out true damage, now they have gone 1 step further and shown that they can compromise a security firm within minutes...and ruin people's identity and social standing within minutes...seriously, let's look at what is going on....we heard the message, and need to ponder, but the government acting out is just an act of defiance to accept their
    accountability in this....and that only leads to more ....so US gov. please accept that you did some wrong, and should maybe pull back
