Yeah... cause if I can get hold of your keyboard, I would never think to add a keystroke logging device. You can get them cheap, attach to the cord going to the case, and viola.... 100% reliable.
'cept that I always keep my passwords in a text file so that I can copy and paste using the mouse.
Beats having to type all of those )@#&^!*#$ characters.
Every single error/warning/informational message that any application or OS can issue is documented with explanations and operator actions (if required).
My favorite I still remember to this day:
"Compiler error 3 during phase QT. Correct and resubmit"
if people needed to keep an email they should print it out and file it
Makes it kinda hard to follow any links in the email. I've tried and tried but, no matter how carefully I position the mouse, nothing happens when I click on the the printout.
windows 98/windows 98se is vulnerable but Microsoft has not released a patch because they no longer support the product.
No, 98 isn't in the list for this vulnerability (MS03-026). But it is in the list for a different one: MS03-030 (the one about MIDI files and DirectX and QUARTZ.DLL)...
We once named a whole lab full of machines after weather phenomena, with the servers getting names like tornado and typhoon, and the workstations getting 'smaller' names like breeze and gust...
...all of my copies of that old Doctor Who story called _The Tenth Planet_? What do they expect me to do - cross that out and label it _The Ninth Planet_??? Just doesn't have the same ring to it...
Oh, and if anybody happens to have a decent copy of the fourth episode of _The Tenth^h^h^h^h^h Ninth Planet_, I'd be glad to come over and help you relabel it;)
Sorry about skipping yesterday's class, Dr. G, but I was conserving brain cells for my old age.

I'd bet real money that there's an old Bloom County cartoon that would make an appropriate logo...

Also, having a battery powered portable TV came in quite handy when last year's hurricane knocked out our power AND our cable for 8 days...
[FWIW, the 30+ year old analog phone lines stayed up, and even powered our 25 year old rotary dial phone. Beat that, Comcast!]

Let's hope they do better than Blockbuster did with that "No more late fees" crap.
The main reason for having separate phones and computers is so that you can call the help desk when your computer is down. :-)
;-)
Or to call my good friends at Comcast when the Internet is down
I'd hate to get knocked up.
From The Fug's album "It Crawled Into My Hand, Honest":
Do not tell me, I am source of your knock up. The mud elephant wading through the sea leaves no tracks.
Not just in England, but in one quarry in England. I mean, what were the odds of that?
Gee, Doctor, couldn't we cut out a lot of all this travelling about if we'd just move UNIT headquarters there?
There, there, Jo. I've made a few improvements to Bessie, and we should be there in no time...

Phoenix... Minotaur... Thunderbird...
Looks like there's at least one person still playing Heroes of Might and Magic.
Wake me up when they announce that Gekko has become Basilisk. Oh, wait, I think that name's already taken.
We once named a whole lab full of machines after weather phenomena, with the servers getting names like tornado and typhoon, and the workstations getting 'smaller' names like breeze and gust...
And, of course, I named my machine "dervish".

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
I remember when you could find programs for the original Macintoshes that could play tunes on the variable speed floppy drive.
Those were the days, my friend...
