I'm not saying "Bugs come equal to people", just "people need to consider things more carefully". I don't think a bugs life over rides a human life, but I don't think a human should kill something and go "meh who cares, just a bug!"
As you said, one day we may have to deal with many situations more complex than "bug" or "not bug".
I do not believe chimps should have human rights, but that we should improve the rights of all animals. It seems us humans see animals as... well animals. We often forget these are things with feelings and emotions just like we do. We should never think of killing another human because "that's wrong" but at the same time we rarely think twice about killing hundreds of animals for the sake of cheap wood or because some stupid reason like "I hate bugs". Basicly we're that asshole kid who runs around hitting everyone and it's about time we faced up to this, we scream and shout about global warming while at the same time completely missing the little picture where we're wiping out entire species of animals because we can't use basic birth control and have an over populated planet in some areas.
I want to point out right now I'am not some nutter who runs around bombing animal testing labs. I accept some things must be done such as conservation and culling of over populations in the animal world. This while not pleasent if something we need to do to keep a balance in wild life, I would not wish to stop it nor would I ever attempt to.
I'm not supporting the RIAA but this seems wrong to me. If the person they are sueing has access and may have used the PC for copyright infringement should the PC not be investigated?

A lot of punks are very intelligent people (in a very warped way geeks are punks in many ways, we tend to over lap and have a usually left wing mentality), but you have to remember punk as we it should be is rather dead. Punk got too mainstream to the point where it became pop music and all it stood for became "lets do drugs and break stuff!" in the current climate. These "neo punks" are little more than teeny boppers dressed up as something else, still looking for something to call their own and a scene where "no one cares what you are (cough how it used to be cough)" is the obvious place to settle.
As for heavy metal being related to gifted children.. Hmm no. Because music is a personal thing and people will tend to enjoy what they are exposed to at a young age and leaves a lasting impression. So right now rap, girl bands, heavy metal (the pointless screaming type) and punk would be popular with children (0-12ish) in most cases. Where as back in my day (born 86) we had more dance music and retro stuff from the 70s and 80s still hanging around. Which would be very similar to my taste in music now.
Plus children are fickle, if we gave them the entire catalog of music they would have a new favourite band/style every other day.

The combat system just isn't fun and makes no sense to me. Vaan stands around for ten seconds going "ho hum time to get hit" while I just told him to smash some guys face in with a sword. WHY!? All it does is remind me of laggy MMORPGs and that Vaan needs to stop being such a skinny little gimp and start hitting things if he even wants to be a real pirate.
Ever thought that is a bad picture to denoise any way? It is made up of a textured plain and pretty much nothing else, obviously it will see the detail as noise on such a small scale and simple picture.

No, kids from the age of 4-5 do have a basic grasp if pain and hurting others. Once you realize being hit hurts and hitting others hurts you have the basic concept nicely down.
No, not "in my case" in all cases. It is not a "natural" thing, it is infact abuse allowed because "they are kids". You cannot say "oh he deserved it for picking his nose" and then "oh he didn't deserve it, he's just smart". You either condone 100% abuse or you don't, it is THAT simple.
In the current "switched on era" you can be harassed 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Kids can make you live in fear constantly, torture you and basicly give you scars for life all through cell phones and e-mail. Maybe you should speak to some of these people who got put through hell and tell them to "get over it".
As technology grows (and the youth of today grows up faster) we should be starting to deal with this stuff sooner.
