From someone with Bipolar, I do not wish to be treated and will never be so.
It has some great upsides (ever just wanted to stay up that last hour? Don't worry! Get tired and have 5 hours of full energy!), and the downsides even have uses in some situations. It's not something I'd want to get rid of even if given the choice tomorrow.
Autism on the other hand can be anything from a bit disconnected from the world (I have a friend with it, he's fully functional just slightly out of it at times) or it can be a complete disconnect from the world to the point where you really will never function at any level beyond being a damn fine calculator in your subject of choice. My friend finds a counceller useful, but the second guy would basicly find a counceller a babysitter at very most.
Also please stop acting like mentally ill people are all monsters with no hope. Thanks to my bipolar I'm extremely creative and the above mentioned of all-nighters. I'am NOT some handicapped guy who's got no hope, I'm a person who can stand up for themselves and doesn't need you to get agressive on people to turn them off to understanding me (which you clearly do not grasp).

THE SOURCE OF VIOLENCE IS NOT BAD PARENTING! Everyone has a natural personality which can be shaped by parenting, but you have to accept some people are just plain bad and some as just plain good. Some people will be violent no matter what their parents do, while other kids will never harm a fly even if their parents try to turn them into a boxer.
Parents are NOT the answer to every problem, they do NOT cause every problem. They are just people told to babysit a tiny person and do their best.
I'd say that there needs to be some censorship in this area, but it needs to be well defined like it is here in the UK. You can show violence, sex and whatever else you like AFTER 9pm, up until 9pm you have to keep it tame. This means people can still show anything they like but parents have a fairly good idea of what will be involved after the watershed (9pm).
This is incorrect though, a poorly written story with a mouthpeice is going to be horrid, but there is no reason why a story with an agenda cannot be good and intresting.
A good story teller can tell you a story about a peice of string and make it sound amazing, a bad story writer can tell a story about the coolest thing ever and make you yawn
I'm a hardcore gamer (I fit all the above at least) and I absolutely adore my gamecube. The casual wannabe hardcore crowd (read snotty kids) would write off "childish" games. But a real hardcore gamer knows all games are secretly aimed at kids and so while Mario may not run around shooting people he's got a lot more street cred than some idiot in any FPS where it's just a case of being able to aim.

I've even seen such stupid things as "We should be given money for the slave trade", except oh.. I dunno.. These people were born into middle class families and have never worked a day in their lives!
Sonic isn't about the gamers any more. Go look at Deviantart or any major furry site and you'll see the type of people who buy Sonic games. They don't care about the game play, they just want more "story" (aka new characters to poorly draw having sex).
The best Sonic game in ages has been Rush and that still didn't play very well, if not for the music it wouldn't have been half as good as it was.

Why is it such a big issue if a guy is black, white or green? We here so much bitching about "Black characters are so rare" but no one even comaplsin there are no olive skinned people do they? Life is not made up of 3 colours (Black, white and Asian), it is made up of billions of different varients which go from deathly pale (Slashdot readers mostly) to coal black.
So why don't we whine how some other minority is ignored instead of all this "OMG NO BLACK GUYS!!" thing?
Barret is NOT stupid. Will people pleas get a clue about the Japanese culture before they start pointing the race card around? More often than not it's the translation which adds "blackness" to a character rather than the original Japanese script.
Barret acts no different than a lot of white anime characters. I've seen more money hungry brutes coloured white than I have black infact.
Take Gaido from Super robot taisen Original generation. In Japanese he speaks normally and doesn't stand out at all, yet in the Atlus translation he has a jamacian accent. Absolutely no reason for this other than Atlus decided it.
Is Gaido a black steriotype or is it just a shitty translation? Maybe if we discussed Bo Bo Bo we'd have issues, but Barret isn't one of them.
At what point did ANYONE think it's sane to consider a corporation a person any way?
I mean do we go "Oh there's that Christian person again" or "there is that Islam person again"? A group of people is a group of people, they are NOT mini parts of 1 entire person.
I had some problems with getting Dell to complete my order (some recovery CDs were missing). I posted about it on Slashdot a few months back and got a reply from a US Dell employeee telling me to drop him a line and he'd help fix it (I'm in the UK) and try to his word after a couple of phone calls everything was sorted out and dandy.
So before everyone starts ragging on Dell, remember there are at least a couple of good apples there.
I love how all these plans are about reducing global warming yet don't take global cooling into question.
We don't have a clue what's going on and everyones planning some huge stupid scheme around best guesses. Maybe we should work out exactly what is going on first.

A, Resident evil 4 (an action game more than survival horror) B, A complete and utterly incorrect comment
I have to wonder if I want to read an "indepth" article by these people. I mean how difficult is it to get that Resident evil 4 has ZERO Zombies? There are NO Zombies in RE4.
If you're going to do an indepth article at least make a note that the living dead tend to be... well dead.
Why do people always assume A leads to Z? Just because these guys have morals does not mean they would make good politicians. It's like saying "That psycho who killed the most people is clearly the best leader for the squad", except he has no clue how to lead, just maim people.
Very intresting research but why do we need to find out why the seaside smells like the seaside? I'm all for curiousity and discovering stuff, but this sounds really useless.

Yesterday it crashed on me whenever I tried to copy and paste something into Gaim. It was bloody annoying and made no sense.
