Same here. I still use 7.1 and 7.2. I think I had 7.1 since summer of 2001. It is not that old. I am one of those people who hate upgrading OS' every year! I only do it when I need to (every three years). I even stuck with Windows 98 for three years!
I loved System Shock 2 and I heard great things in the original game. However, I couldn't get into the first game due to its poor controls and graphics. I'd love to see a rehash of the original game! And enhanced with multiplayer (co-op!).
Is it worth getting this version for my old Red Hat Linux v7.1 and v7.2 boxes (currently running Kernel 2.4.20)? Will I see any performance improvement?
I mainly use them as a workstation (7.1 as a private server for personal usage) for gaming (e.g., RTCW, RTCW:ET, Q3A and its mods, surfing, IRC'ing, watching videos (DVDs, AVI, etc.). I haven't really noticed any IO problems.
I did noticed dragging video windows (e.g., MPlayer) and my SB Live! (emu10k1 driver from opensource.creative.com) stop playing audio until I let go of the mouse button. Does this Kernel version fix this problem?
You can see my system setups. Thank you in advance.:)
Very young children shouldn't be using the Internet unsupervised. Even I can't avoid porn all the time. Some still leak through filters, e-mail filters, etc.
I am also a big fan of Lode Runner. The original games that is, including Championship Lode Runner (actually finished it and got a certificate, heh!!).
I never liked the newer versions. I hope Cubic Lode Runner will be good as the classics. I can't find any screen shots of the gameplay except the box art.
Cool Web site. Too bad it hasn't been updated lately.
I swore the patch came out last Wednesday, May 21, 2003 like the rest of the XP updates. Even my Windows Update histories said Wednesday. Did MS rerelease it on Friday or something? I have it installed on my XP and 2000 machines and had no problems.
As for Symantec products, which software products is the article referring to? Again, I have no problems and see no problems with my installed Symantec products.
I wonder if the editor made errors in this article. I have seen it on Wired News, ABC News, Yahoo, etc.

The lines are also on IMDb.
Thanks. I will try that. I am using Ximian's GNOME v1.4. I usually turn off show contents in moving windows to speed things up.
I looked at the screen shots for System Shock remake. They still bug me. :(
Minna Kirai: Other applications using audio don't get interrupted. Only whatever program has video.
DOOM was a great co-op action game. :)
My two favorite Apple // games during my childhood. I'd love to see a rehashed of them. I don't think a 3D of these games would be good.

I have not heard about IE 6.1 from these stories.
No problems. Just remember, the game is a bit old but the gameplay and story is much better.
I am not sure. I never tried it. :) Let's say, it does. What do you think the problem is?
It is not just MPlayer. It also includes Xine, Ogle, etc.
XMMS is OK if I drag it around. I think it is only with video files and DVDs.
It's no big deal, but it can be annoying. Other than that, my boxes are happy.
What do you think about the video window issue with audio? Do you think this is fixed with 2.4.21? I am not sure if that is related to IO stuff.
Sevn: NOLF was better than its sequel IMHO.

Not the Professional version.

Will there be RPM packages for these or are they outdated?
RTFA. I copied and pasted it.

Soldier still need to be trained for events when you have no technologies to use. Like batteries run out, none of them are with you, etc.
I don't think Fox will like this. I smell a cease and desist soon. :)
If you use GKrellM (MacOS X, Linux, and Windows) and love Alien movies, then check out this skin/theme.
