Btw you don't have to completely "root" the system to be part of a botnet, but it helps, at least if you want your bot to keep running when the user reboots (though it could easily add itself to ~/.bash_profile to restart next time the user logs back in)
Or even just add a @reboot entry to that user's crontab, for execution post-boot.
That never stopped them from sanctioning military operations in Iraq or Afghanistan. Just how much a day is it costing to keep those operations on-going?
If you want to make fun of something, how about the fact that they NEVER made a Pentium Pro laptop.
Never say never!

Actually Windows 7 wont work with MOST OpenGL games either. I tried running a couple of OSS games that used OpenGL on a really outdated Geforce 9800GT and a quad core i5 and it failed to run outside of software render mode.
Granted BZFlag is a super high end game that makes Crysys look like Wolfenstine 3d (That everyone is sarcasim)
BZFlag works just fine here in OpenGL mode on Win 7 Ult x64 (w/ 8800GT and v258.96 drivers).
If you are into gaming, dont use Windows 7 64 bit. It's incompatible as hell.
Every single modern game I've tried has worked perfectly well on 7 x64,/shrug.
Except that not all of the FreeBSD world prefers a compile-the-world approach, which is why there's a freebsd-update utility now in base for binary updates of the base OS.

We took Data ONTAP, including WAFL and RAID, combined it with the new code from our Spinnaker acquisition, and hosted the combined result on FreeBSD in a combination of user processes and kernel modules. For security and simplicity we have disabled and hidden many parts of FreeBSD." : http://blogs.netapp.com/dave/2007/04/is_data_ontap_b.html
I think you're forgetting about Windows Server 2008, which uses the same generation of kernel as Vista.

Leaving aside stuff like not for the feint of heart, which is just poor editing, what the hell does I found Chapter 11 to be very useful (pun intended) mean?
Maybe it's the ultimate meta-pun, where there was no pun in the first place, but the author pointed out that one was intended, so one was slipstreamed into the statement.
I think he's actually referring to Chapter 9 which is entitled "Finding Files: find, locate, slocate" hence the pun on "found".
How about any of the recent Cubase SX products? The DRM is so embedded into the application, it (iirc) took over a year to crack Cubase SX 3 successfully.
pfSense is quite capable of running on either Soekris SBCs or PC Engine WRAPs, which to use your phrase, are both "small, quiet and wireless!";) Granted, the WRT54s are cheaper, but both the Sokeris and WRAP boards offer more flexibility.
From the creator of Xen's website "A port of Windows XP was developed for an earlier version of Xen, but is not available for release due to licence restrictions"
The only thing standing in the way of Xen's running Microsoft's products is Microsoft.
Not even that is standing in the way of Xen running M$ operating systems anymore, if you have the right hardware.
1.4. Does Xen support Microsoft Windows?
The paravirtualized approach we use to get such high performance has not been usable directly for Windows to date. However Xen 3.0 added Intel VT-x support to enable the running of unmodified guest operating systems, including Windows XP & 2003 Server, using hardware virtualization technology. We are working on implementing support for the equivalent AMD Pacifica technology.

Cool story, bro.
I wonder how much was paid on his behalf to have this orchestrated?
You do realise that nvidia has had freebsd amd64 drivers for over a year and a half now? The latest of which is 270.4106

And? MS Security Essentials is a zero-cost option as long as the OS isn't pirated.
It's a zero cost option even if the OS is pirated.
That's a show stopper for me.
Same here for quite a while - fortunately Status-4-Evar plugin showed up to remedy that particular ill.
So, you simply choose not to buy such a system in the first place - cuh.

FreeBSD jails are certainly no longer ill-supported second-rate tack-ons. Care for virtualised network stacks per Zone? ;)
There's still a few manufacturers making C2D boards with a limited number of ISA slots : http://www.adek.com/ATX-motherboards.htm and http://www.commell.com.tw/product/SBC/P4BWA.HTM are two examples.
Perhaps you're confusing NetBSD with FreeBSD ?

Riiiight, because having access to the source makes a games soooooo much better to play.
That's a nice straw man you've pulled there.
