As a kind of follow on to this. Do you ever desire to work at creating more stories in the Babylon 5 universe? If so how likely is that to happen, or are there any major hurdles that would have to be cleared first?
It is the most incredible irony that the political system that explicitly bills itself as being the most fair to all of the people, is also the one that has killed and persecuted the most people.
That system was built by very smart people, who unquestionably believed that the masses were too stupid to do what was right for them.
The Communists prove your post to be totally wrong.
Because thinking less of someone puts you on the path to devalue them as a person. Devaluing someone as a person puts you on the path to mistreating that person. Mistreating that person puts you on a path to evil.
True you can try to stop with just thinking less of someone, but many a religious flame war here on/. shows you how easy this path can be to follow.
Yeah, all those leftist anti-vax folks sure have science on their side.
The tragedy of modern American political thought is that we have been conned into to believing that there are two sides to every issue and that one side is right and the other side is wrong. All nuance, compromise, understanding and civility between both political parties has been decimated.
When the parties spin out of control like this, it doesn't bode well.
What I've noticed is that on opinion shows Fox will get a liberal and conservative to argue the issue and the commentator for Fox and the conservative will gang up on the liberal.
On MSNBC they get a liberal and a hardcore liberal to discuss an issue and they and the commentator engage in a circle jerk for the whole segment.
i'm surprised they didn't threaten another challenger disaster or an apollo 1 fire or some other fearmongering nonsense, especially since the white house is leading the way with that tactic
That would require NASA participating in Human Spaceflight, a business they currently are not participating in anymore.
True different projections exaggerate the size of landmasses in the Northern Hemisphere.
That still doesn't change the fact that there is way more land in the Northern Hemisphere than there is in the Southern Hemisphere and that Siberia and Canada are very large landmasses.
Remember, there's less land near the top of a globe than at the middle.
Ok seriously WTF?
I know you're trying to be all "dire warning" and everything, but just get a fricken globe and take a look at it.
I know there is more "surface area" on a globe in the middle, but for Earth and with respect to landmasses, a majority of the land is in the higher latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere.
Of course when distributing the $10 digital book, the publisher has costs of nearly $0 to make each copy that is distributed.
That is why I do not buy digital books. They are charging me the same as for a physical (hardcover no less!!) book when their handling costs for distributing books have virtually disappeared. Can't pass those savings on to the customer, no way!! Plus let make it as cumbersome to use as possible.
Note to publishers, we're not your freaking peasants who owe you a special offering to be privileged to use your books on our devices, but only how you see fit.
Publishers, until you give me a lower price that is respective of your savings in distributing e-book, and until you make e-book more usable on various devices, I'll keep checking out books at the library.
Just to pile on the, with all due respect, horseshit prosecutor that handled Aaron's case.
She's also responsible for trying to seize a hotel from its owners because a couple of drug deals happened there. It didn't matter to her that the owners helped the police and were not at all involved other than renting out rooms.
Again with all due respect, this prosecutor shold have already resigned in disgrace for this.
Our legal system has no honor when the officers of the court behave worse than the supposed criminals.
I'm pretty sure that no matter how much "self-defense" you are engaging in, if you cause any "collateral damage" with your hypothetical drone defense, you will go to jail for the rest of your life.
Whereas if the government executes a drone strike to kill a citizen terrorist, and innocents die, their families will just get told "sorry".
Neither you nor the government should be allowed to fly armed drones in the public airspace.
Oh yeah, let's just pick and choose the freedoms we want to let others defend. That'll work great.
I assume you've never heard:
First they came for the........
It's kinda sad how hard it is to vigorously defend our rights.
Most of the bill of rights state things in terms of "Congress shall make no law" but yet Congress spends a lot of time trying to make rights restricting laws anyway.
The fact that the content industry has no problems with having the ISP industry monitoring their CUSTOMERS use of the Internet makes me sick.
Some rights are more important than others. My right to not be spied on by a company I (not the content industry) am doing business with is much more important than the content industries desire to make sure they're paid every dime they think they deserve.
The ISPs should have fought like hell to achieve a common carrier status which would have allowed them to tell big content to pound sand. Oh and as for the content industry owning many ISPs our government should have never allowed that.
I'll say it again. If your business model requires a police state to be viable, you need to fucking go out of business.
The best episode of season 5 in my opinion was "Day of the Dead."
JMS - If Ivonava had been on season 5 of Babylon 5, which previously deceased character would have visited her: Marcus, or Talia?

Some of the best time travel stories ever written IMHO. Also Babylon Squared gave us the great fasten, zip - zip, fasten dialogue.
In further research....
It was found that strong belief in AGW leads to impairments in ones sense of humor.
I understand that truly "THE WORLD IS AT STAKE!!"
But please do lighten up. The GP post was a freakin joke....
There used to be...
Sure.....

So are they REALLY just doing weather surveillance?
Yes, they are very much only seriously talking about weather surveillance.
Watching people is much much harder and more expensive than watching clouds is....
Ummm, you've heard it from SpaceX?
They actually are doing it cheaper....
If you look at my post wasn't really that kind to Fox.
Its really telling that you manage to throw in an ad hominem attack.
Its also very neat how you tiptoe around the Godwinness of your post, without saying it directly.
Yeah, you're the fucking height of political insight and knowledge.
Yeah, all those leftist anti-vax folks sure have science on their side.

using IBM/Lotus Notes and it was working well
I find that hard to believe....
Contrary to popular belief, twinkies DO have an expiration date....

Exactly. Butts in seats is sooooo much easier to measure than productivity. Measuring productivity requires actual work by the managers!!

exactly. Scary stuff.
Of course that's true. But the corrallary of that is that then the parts that make it an assault rifle aren't really parts of the "gun".
