Yes, but Dean isn't really doing that. Everything hes got is just a negation of what Bush did/would do. He needs to change focus and come up with a plan of his own that is something outside of just reversing Bush's policies. Nothing he is putting out there is really embraced outside of the far left.
I am by no means in the wealthiest 1% and there is no way in hell Dean will get my vote.
Please, if you are a Dean supporter you better get over assuming that everyone will like Dean as much as you do. Dean has to have something better to run on other than "I hate Bush." Oh, and "I'm going to raise your taxes again" isn't the right thing either.
But when I run linux, my copy is mine, its not public.
Thats where the magic lies and where businesses should catch on. You can use linux as much as you want without having to pay for or share it. Companies can use linux as a inexpensive platform to develop on top of and not have that platform controlled by anyone but themseleves. Only by changing GPL code do they have to contribute back to the public. Using and working on top of that code is completely private and completely free in all senses of the word.
Heck, I think there a 180 degree spin in a starfury somewhere in EVERY season of Babylon 5.
Babylon 5 also used the zoom effect in space battles, only without the camera shake. And they'd pan with projectile weapons as well like was done some in Galactica as well.
I don't agree with everything you said, but the music actually was the one thing I really thought was truly not as good as the original. I really wish they would have taken the old music as the starting point for the music of this series.
The only true paper printout should be a slip with your votes on it which you verify and drop in a locked box. The locked box can then be used for recounts/verification. Nothing on the ballot should indicate anything except your votes. The most extranneous information I would be willing to accept would be the date and time and possibly a voting machine identifier (same for every vote on that machine). This would allow vaildation of votes totally anonymously with extra verification that one machine didn't just print votes every 5 seconds.
But for me, I would just prefer to stick with pencil and paper.
Sure, ok, but what I read seems like it may give people a consistent way to pay for information EVERY TIME THEY USE IT!!
You know this is the holy grail for DRM, and also something I will absolutely not participate in. Look at the web access for cell phones with its pay to connect type of charges. These kind of payment schemes are just excuses for monopolies to fleece the customer.
I have got to agree Myth rocks!!! I love the net streaming of video (and even live TV).
The only other feature I want now is some sort of archiving module that automatically burns shows to DVD/VCD. I've burned some PVR output to VCD already, but I would really like myth to handle it.
The archiving module has been mentioned on the mailing list somewhat already, my guess is it will be in the 0.14 or 0.15 release sometime next spring.
But Myth is truly an awesome system with great features and a lot of polish. It really is a killer application for linux.

I still have Windows 98 at home (just for games mostly). The only reason is that I will never ever give Microsoft any of my own money ever again and I won't pirate newer versions of Windows either. Oh and for security, I never connect to the net from Windows 98.
You could try powerbroker from symark. It lets you setup commands your developers could run without allowing full root access. Its kindof like sudo, only much more in depth.
Its not that MS Sucks so much as it is that they don't compete, or don't have to.
Sure they watch technology and embrace and extend what they like, but they aren't really leading the way in making a better operating system for their customers.
Many of the "features" that they really focus on are primarily the ones that do more to lock in the customer. MS really needs the competition.
You, my friend, are exactly the kind of person that is giving the terrorists hope that they can actually win.
I,personally, not my party, thought that the cruise missles in response to the cole bombing were justified. But, if you want to go on spouting off about not stopping 9/11 (something Clinton did not do either), you should start with the fact that the response was cruise missles, and that was it.
Hey, I don't pretend to think that Clinton had any idea that 9/11 would happen, and don't blame him for it either. But you want to have your cake and eat it too. Bush is blamed for not stopping 9/11, but a preemptive strike in Iraq is just not acceptible to you liberals.
Make up your mind do you want preemtive strikes to stop terrorism or not. And don't give me any of that Saddam didn't support terrorists crap, he was paying for suicide bombers in Israel.
I don't want an easy ride, I just wanted my memory key to work. I did everything necessary to get xine, mplayer and mp3s working. It would just be nice to see them included, thats all.
Wouldn't it follow then that IBM is the only party that could be "punished" for distributing the trade secret.
(In which case I'm seriously considering four years of travel and study abroad.)
;-).
Thats fine, you can come back in four years when I'm leaving because Hillary's president

Microsoft uses any means to destroy any competetor, no matter how small.
Paranoia of loosing their monopoly drives every action Microsoft takes.

Ohh, it would be fun seeing someone who hasn't seen the show yet try to figure your statement out while watching :-)
I did that and still had to deal with commercials. I watched it delayed, but there were so many commercials that I caught up with live.
My point is that there shouldn't be this sort of system.
I'm coming at this from the customer's viewpoint. I will not participate in pay per access type of systems.

Of course my Myth box only has linux on it

Excuse me while it try to overcome the jarring shock of someone comparing Battlestar Galactica to Cosmos.
Mind you Cosmos is a absolutely fantastic show and all, but up until a minute ago I have never thought of these two shows a the same time.
What the hell is wrong with you?
Great post!!! Someone mod this one up.
Constantly changing password != good password
AND the likelyhood that the password is on a post it note on the screen goes dramitically up as you increase the frequency of the changes.

Thanks, I'm glad I'm good for a laugh.
You, however, are legitimally on my foe's list because you posess a frothing hatred of anyone whose views don't agree with yours.
Your personal insults, in lieu of real debate (and sometimes just for the sake of being insulting), just prove the point.
You're a mean spirited asshole, worthy of no more of my time.

While you are on my foes list and I am on yours, this kind of crap is absolutely uncalled for.

Yes, it uses the mass storage driver, but I think it was problems with devfs.
