Burns:[stuffing money into his wallet] No, not while my greatest nemesis still provides our customers with free light, heat and energy. I call this enemy...the sun.
you're going to get that same game shoved down your throats
Not quite, how is selling a video game shoving it down people's throats? You do realise you don't HAVE to buy it right? Anyways, the same type of people who buy this re-hashed crap are the same type of people I don't care much for when they are ripped off.
ffs, were you asleep when that happened? They didn't totally block the site. They simply gave people a choice by putting up a page which meant that you needed one extra click to get to your gay porn.
I can see where you're coming from, but I find that work done poorly when I'm worn out actually puts me behind. 1. I stuff something up, that worked fine in the first place. 2. I do such a bad job so that I waste time when I am awake fixing things I did when I wasn't.
It depends on what you plan on crashing into. I'd much rather crash into an immovable object with a well build sedan than an SUV. Sedans are built with better crumple zones for absorbing energy in a crash. Crashing into another car is a different story...
We need to reach 400kmh to make an impact on a gasoline car-dependent world," Shimizu says.
WTF is this guy thinking. The car does 370kmh, if only he could get to 400 then the car will become popular? The public has little interest in a top speed of 400. It's the fact that you need to charge batteries and it costs a shitload.
The wonderful folks at the nearest Circuit City told me that the insurance I bought for the phone only covered manufacturer glitches. Sound familiar?
phone insurance:/ sigh, and when you have manufacturer glitches they aren't covered either.
Once you factor in the excess, with phone insurance it's easier to save yourself the trouble and if the phone breaks just take it up the cracker(ass). At least you can get the latest phone.
I've seen lots of these. It's where the FROM address is a friend that you have real trouble. It's damn hard to stop them opening things from people they know, and if it's a link then most people would have no hesitation clicking on it.
Well, in NSW (That's Sydney, Australia for most of you) it goes like this:
When do you have a right to a refund?
Simply, a refund would be in order if the goods:
-have a fault that you could not have known about when you purchased them -do not do the job that you were led to believe they would do -do not match a sample you were shown -are not as they were described.
Nice and simple and it's hard for the store or the consumer to screw each other over.
Australia too. We've had a few of them for years now. So damned expensive though. It's a good idea to leave the wallet at home if you plan on visiting one.
There is something about an "Operator's Manual" for an incomplete standard that doesn't make me want to spend money on it.
And fact that any hardware will be at least a year away from them finishing 802.16
What's the "omg this is slashdot at it's best, this stuff is 0.263 days old already! [nosebleed]THERE GOES MY FKN SUBSCRIPTION!!!! [/nosebleed]" party scene to do?
I was just thinking that I'd pay MORE for an MS Office "Starter" version. An Office type program without all the crap that comes with it would be great!
I'm a sailor and the BOM site saves lives and helps keep people out of trouble.
I can see the positives for charging for a weather service, it might let them spend more on improving services etc etc. But there are many negatives:
1. This information is used for saftey reasons. Price on a life anyone....
2. Lots of people use the information and it is of different value to each. How do you set charges on it
3. We've already paid for someone to get the information. Why do we have to pay again to see it?
"a healthy 20-something"
few of the slashdot crowd, including me. But that knee I can relate to.
here
Although, at look what it's running. Only good for eating and shitting out.
full quote is a little better.

Oh the irony!

basically no direct benefit to them
Are you kidding? I'm sure there is a huge benefit to them in the cost of running Hotmail. Hotmail accounts would be send millions of spam a day.
ffs, were you asleep when that happened? They didn't totally block the site. They simply gave people a choice by putting up a page which meant that you needed one extra click to get to your gay porn.
Very responsible I thought.

Surely there must be a torrent or something...

ahhh the OGC isn't some sort of UK Gov CS hax department.
Yes, really. Navini is about as close to WiMAX as you can get right now but it's not WiMAX.
NOTHING is WiMAX because WiMAX hasn't been finished yet.

Who designs the numbering systems?
These guys do.
No, it doesn't.

Spread windows far and wide. Now when the next MSvirus hits it can take out all the other appliances too!
"ffs! How many time do we have to tell you, you need to run windows update on your microwave at least once a week"
I was just thinking that I'd pay MORE for an MS Office "Starter" version. An Office type program without all the crap that comes with it would be great!
:)
But then there already is one OO
That site is thee BOM
