Actually, I've done exactly that. After dismissing it based on the pagerank I read up on the site and found that it was in fact crooked. The author shouldn't take things for granted just because he doesn't trust pagerank...
lol I just downloaded and ran Picasa on someone else's computer and found tons of p0rn. He is only 14 and I'm debating whether or not to tell his parents. I probably shouldn't.
I really don't think that Sony will be able to compete with the iPod. iPods already have a reputation of being the best of their kind. Unless Sony's model is significantly cheaper or better, people won't buy it.
They will definitely be more secure than normal ones, but I'm sure people will manage to copy them. Why not just plug the output cables of the DVD player into a recording device and let it run.
I agree that there isn't that much point to testing such low bitrates. People are quickly switching to DSL and Cable, And I think that there won't be many Dial-up users in 2010.
It's terrible that the Hubble will be allowed to die when it's still making important discoveries like this. The Bush administration won't support any NASA mission that isn't directly linked to putting men on the moon or Mars. Maybe if they let NASA improve their scientific aspects, NASA could design cheaper, reusable spacecraft.
