I'm not a pro photosoftware user so I guess none of what's discussed here really affects me. But still, I'm curious about Irfanview and Picasa, the two programs that I use for my photo needs. Are these affected? How do I detect the effect?
A brief tutorial about privacy settings and how to do it before letting one activate Buzz would have worked well to stifle such privacy outcries. When I looked into Buzz, all the privacy controls were right there - nothing would be shared if I didn't want it to, and only what I wanted would be shared with only who I wanted to share it with. Very good and tight controls.
But people are not generally patient enough to pay attention to such details when setting their google profiles and they are the ones who raise a big cry about privacy not being respected.
Either you are being intentionally obtuse or you are really confused here. The choice we are talking about is regarding the adult, not the fetus. I hope that you can think from this new perspective and re-align your thoughts.
Pro-choice and anti-choice. Nobody is pro-abortion. But the choice should be with the person who is pregnant. If you try to take that choice away, then you are anti-choice.
I was objecting to the use of the word "ethical" in describing the debate because ethics has nothing to do with it. There is no dishonesty in my posts. I'm being as clear as can be. The only dishonesty seems to be from those who oppose stem cells and those who are anti-choice - incidentally one and the same group.
Another example to drive home my point: The same people who are anti choice also distinguish between "embryonic" stem cells and stem cells, and the same people "accept microevolution" but not "macroevolution".
Now, there are always exceptions to such generalizations but broadly, religious people are anti-science and anti-progress.
The article also points out that this method could work around the ethical issues surrounding embryonic stem-cell research.
This is more a religious issue rather than ethical - much like the pro-choice and anti-choice debate. Same people are anti-stem cell as those who are anti-choice.
Considering that they fly far above the clouds, the rainstorm shouldn't pose much of a problem. Obviously I know nothing about how long it takes to compromise the skin in the rain.
Is this just a "proof of concept" and not really something useful? I mean, if it shows Linux running in screen-saver mode, any disturbance of the keyboard/mouse will bring back windows...am I missing something?
You quote out of context, and you should be ashamed of yourself for being so dishonest. The judge said that he is not discouraging those people who study ID, and he says they have deep beliefs in what they are doing. But, this is the most important thing, he says that ID is *not science* and therefore *should not be taught in a science class*.
Stop spinning things by taking it out of context, and be honest for once.
When talking about commercial software like MS Office, we talk about the "Open source equivalent" OpenOffice.org and stuff like that. I'm curious to know whether there is a commercial equivalent to Ruby on Rails.
Isn't it obvious that the article submitter "cut and paste" from the original telco's statements? It's definitely not the article submitter's own language.

Will there be an article about the Gimp when it turns 20, too?
I didn't preview my previous comment and so it came out all wrong.
From Wikipedia, 1 GeV/c^2 = 1.783 × 1027 kg . I wish summary articles were written so that most people could understand the terms used.
You can opt out by choosing the "turn off Buzz" link at the bottom of your Gmail page.

LOL! I loved this response! I'm definitely stealing it for my own use :-).
I guess...but what about the lost memories?

This illustrates my point above. Thanks.

Google is definitely taking the right step in open sourcing Wave. Now, if only I could get an invite to participate in the Wave beta....

But too late for me...I already deleted my Facebook profile when they launched this abominable feature.
What is the process called? I'd like to block it with my Sygate Personal Firewall.
...except that there will be trees instead of humans!!! I love it! Also, no need to develop a VR world to keep trees happy and growing :-)!
...has my head spinning round and round!!

Still, pretty cool!!!

The question is, can this be used as a legal precedent in other cases like this across the country?
