You can say he's a "hater" all you want, but in all fairness, he's right.
Who do you know that uses Realplayer? How many Rhapsody users do you know? I bet they all fit on one hand.
My money's hoping for Greg Dean... The pot's gotten pretty large now... he's moving... he could use the money. He draws Real Life. (reallifecomics.com)
I fail to see the connection, as the original story was developed over 20 years ago, but I'm all for anything promoting BSG. It's a wonderful series, I can't wait for the second season.
Yeah, but thats not what the AC was saying. He seemed to imply that star trek was not a newsworthy subject on slashdot. (which, considering it has it's own icon, would appear to be an incorrect assumption.)
Typically when an actor doesn't want to participate in a show anymore, they start asking for outrageous (even for seinfield) sums of money to continue, knowing full and well that the network won't cough up that kind of money. On the off chance that they do, then hey, more money. It's simply a negotiation tactic, agents use it all the time.
Besides, 7 seems to be a good number for a trek series. It's kinda an unwritten rule.
I think what the parent meant was giving _out_ of charity, not nessecarily to a charity. And honestly, it's not our money, we can't tell them what to do with it. Let 'em do what they want.
That's a good question. I don't think they'd pull a Lokitorrent, but you never know. My guess is that it would be donated to a Trek-friendly charity, or something along those lines.
This isn't CNN, pal. Maybe you missed the "News for Nerds" caption under the slashdot logo. If I want to know about Iraq, Bush or the tsunami, I'd be reading CNN.com or something else.

Also, anyone who tells you it's the fashizzle is just lying to your facizzle.
Also, anyone who trys to tell me what to think is gonna be ignored. I can make my own decisions, thankyouverymuch, and so can the mods.
Yeah, did it bug anybody else that Penny-Arcade posted this long before slashdot got around to it? Is slashdot slackin?
read my comment, the key word was _should_
Probably a parent, coach or teacher/sponsor.
I think MIT should be sending these kids scholarships right about now if they wanna save any sort of face.
To be honest, I had a habit of saying "Yes"...
*Sigh* Oh well, I hear a bong calling my name...
Just say NO!
do you need one? there's a search tool built right into the nav bar!
Who's gonna fess up responibility for the Crusades?
i meant with fox in general.
I seem to recall them doing this with Episode II (and possibly Episode I as well)... Why am I not surprised they are doing it again?
even better. illustrator is an art unto itself.
Penny arcade only updates 3 times a week, and I doubt they really wanna change that.

I meant in the stores.
Imagine a hungry hoard of slashdotters clamouring on their doorsteps!
Let's see if we can slashdot baskin-robins!

Insert Cain & Abel joke here...

You're hanging out on the wrong website to be making fun of Star Trek. That's like the pot calling the kettle black.
