My laptop has Linux on it.

You know what? Your entire bitch paragraph below applies 100% to me AS WELL.

But, I can close the lid of my laptop and it goes to sleep, open it and it wakes up. I don't have to write wpa-supplicant files by hand, worry about wireless drivers, or anything else. I can watch my DVDs, I can watch internet videos if I want to (as much as I bitch about youtube culture and whatnot, there are occasionally things worth watching that happen to live inside of an embedded flash player), my battery life doesn't suck and I spend a lot less time beating my head against the wall due to "not quite 100% compatible" issues.

Being that there is no more trial, I had to pay for it to try it.

Complete waste of time. It took me hours to get the peice of shit to play... and I couldn't figure out how to do a damn thing once I started. No manual, no useful in game prompting (it seems it assumed I knew how to do basic stuff) ... I tried just about every key and key combination I could think of, mouse clicks etc - and I couldn't do anything useful -at-all-.

Not much of a reputation to foul...

AFAIK they do have a transponder code for unmanned craft, so ATC can at least be aware that it's not got a meatbag in it. I think they use the "X" bit (which was previously only used by BOMARC missiles (airborn targets)).

Given that this identifier would be in addition to whatever normal 4-digit squawk was assigned, I could see how this would work.

Communicating with the operator may be a bit different. Perhaps implementing some kind of control channel that would allow ATC to issue guidance overrides if required?
