Why did you put Common in Common Raven in quotes? Because you thought it was intended in a pejorative sense, like "the mere common Raven", when they're anything but "mere", or as a hint to others who may have thought this that it isn't the case?
In any event, just to clarify, Common Raven is the common (heh) name for the species Corvus corax.
You got it:) Fascinating birds. Yea, they tend to be nasty (even though that tends to be crows, not ravens) but that's made up for interesting behaviors etc.
Fucking buggy 2.0 code. Can't collapse replies to you, it just collapses you (and not the replies).
Bah. If someone brought this up already, -i-tried-
Anyways. 18 Buttons on a mouse would be awefully useful for graphics work (2d and 3d) - put tool selectors right on the mouse - with practice and/or labels that could significantly improve workflow.
Just drawing your attention to my reply to the AC here since you wouldn't get a notification about it, and it's nice to have discussions longer than a single back-n-forth on Slashdot once in a while:)
My real point is that $5 is hardly a large sum of money.
Buy a cheaper bag of rice here, abstain from Starbucks there (or just get a smaller size (if possible)) and you will find you have $5.
If it's really that big of a deal, you can find $5. Hell, go spend an hour or two busking.
-- in your situation, yes I -would- sell. Some of it at least. You realize you spent more than a year of my salary on that gear, and -I'm- the one telling you $5 is no big thing? If this thing is really so critical to cause you such angst, go sell a few cables or something. Really.
They do. Like I said. It means you are (still) doing something wrong if you can't find $5.
Keep in mind said person has a wireless router, along with all the other things that are going to be going along with it. If they can't spend $5 on that card, then they should be getting internet access at the library, etc etc etc.
Given that it happens at 8:30 for 90 minutes sharp, this doesn't sound like something human-controlled. Look to things that run on a timer, and note that it certainly doesn't sound like other-wifi-interference either.

"Common" Ravens are among the most intelligent birds around, if you don't count parrots.
It's the damn phone company. If it's a landline, you mean to tell me they can't see what circuit it's coming from all the way back to your house?
If it's a cell, likewise - there are cell specific identifiers. namely the SIM details...
I like how you forget the first sentence by the time you move on to the second.
Allow me to repeat him:
Passwords People, they are not just for Game shows.
No, it's not impossible. Playing that card and being a fool purposely is detestable.
And yes, "woosh" - it's an old and stale joke. That one's more of a "poot" than a "whoosh" these days...
I don't think Beowulf clustering works for storage.
Perhaps a Beowulf cluster of storage servers utilizing these?
Did you break your '.' key?
I don't think it's even that bad.
All the BIOS needs to do is seek to the first sector and load what it finds into RAM and sick the CPU on it.
The bootloader and/or OS can deal with it from there. Isn't that what we have been doing for years now? (we being everyone EXCEPT Windows victims)
Neither does yours. He doesn't say -anything- about backups.

Key word people: in developing nations.
These nations don't have the FDA. They also generally don't have access to the $10k equipment either. They take what they can get.

Thanks. That's in-line with what I mean.

I agree. None of that garbage has anything to do with the other child, of whom no information is given whatsoever.
This is a question written in purposely misleading English.
This, in other words, is a shit question.
Whoops, my apologies.
Still. It's odd that it's at particular times, not "around 8:30"
No no, see - your "fix" implies I need a reason to set the building on fire :)
(yes, I got the joke. it's tired and old, which is why I didn't make it myself)

http://www.cacert.org/ doesn't seem to have any problems with that.
Suuure, they aren't in your browser by default (for some reason. Come on, Mozilla...) but that's easy enough to fix.

What, are they microwaving a turkey?
(the question posed states it goes down for about 90 minutes)
The EM from those power lines is going to me much lower in frequency, AFAIK.
If $5 is out of your budget, you are doing something wrong.
I'm guessing that normal air at a higher pressure would prevent the arc from... arcing.
It would also overheat the elements and burn them out, should my guess not be correct.
I would assume it's lower.
Less energy spent on the frequency means more spent on the range. Lower frequencies also tend to penetrate obstacles "better"
