  1. Re:How to dupe the public... on No-Fail Identity Theft – Live and In Person · · Score: 2, Informative

The point is that under our divided, duplicative, wasteful banking "regulatory" system, the FDIC does not even insure or regulate credit unions....that is done by the NCUA. That would make the report to whoever ordered the security check even more embarassing. Their own employees didn't know that 1) FDIC has no visitorial powers, and 2) didnt know or don't have a procedure to have all regulatory inquiries go through a specific person/department. Pathetic.

    FO: "No papers?"

This is not news. I downloaded this file many years ago from the predecessor of this page. This document would be good for the above-average high school math student who is interested in this field. I think the NSA, CIA, DIA, etc. etc. have some more sophisticated tools in their tough laptops. Sure, the Iraqi insurrgency/resitance may use these types of codes. The key (no pun intended) is to decipher the message in time for it to be useful. Move on.....

Exactly what I am wondering. Solaris is a descendent from the ATT/System V branch of the UNIX(tm) tree, not the BSD branch. They license the UNIX, not own the copyrights. Wouldn't they need permission from SCO (or Novell? ) and possibly a whole bunch of other people/corps/entities to really Open Source this stuff? Feels like heat, still looks dark.......

This is what happenens when the "institutions of higher leaning" become credentialing factories rather than centers of learning, teaching and scholarship. In our society the value of the credential is deemed more significant than the experience of learning how to learn, much less teach or research.
