How do you combat if something is a blog? Perhaps if it detects MovableType or WordPress, perhaps, but what if it is written in standard HTML? I kept an online journal in HTML before I learned of MovableType. Would you suggest that Google hire people to look at.edus to see if they have blogs on them? And then the person must figure out if the blog is actually related to the school or if they are just farming out the space/bandwidth for extra income.
Engadget Mobile sells mobile phones and mobile phone services? Or wait, does T-Mobile report on news regarding mobile devices? I'm confused, help me out.
You.. um.. don't need the CD Key to install it.. It says "Enter a CD Key here.. if you want. You get all sorts of benefits if you do have a CD Key, but we're not gonna bother you if you don't want to put one in. Enjoy the game!"
The Radeon X600 is a recent graphics card. The Radeon 9600 that the GP talked about is a card I bought with my computer almost five years ago. And even then, it wasn't all that new. There's no way in hell the GP can play Crysis with his 9600.
Well, for one, who uses a Microsoft service? Yahoo? Blah. And as for ICQ, everyone left that for AIM. Which doesn't matter now because AOL owns ICQ anyway.
There are ways to run IE under wine that work surprisingly well. I'm sure setting up IEs4Linux would be easier than switching banks. I, too, am for an open web but has the bank you switched from fixed the IE dependency?
You say this, but would you do this? It is often easier to just put up with the browser bullshit instead of switching banks or finding a new service provider. I can't very well switch schools because my university doesn't support Opera for it's student portal, can I?
I begged? Please point out to me where I was begging.
No. Only Linux computers.
I pointed out a problem with Windows that was quite serious for me. Windows. Not Linux. I think you just irrationally hate Linux because you've been "burned" so many times. Stop being so ridiculously close-minded. Linux is not perfect. I have plenty of problems with it, but I have just as many problems with Windows. I am not the only one.
You don't have to like Linux or use it or whatever, just stop being dumb. The last statement in your most recent post was just stupid.
I frankly don't believe you when you say everything's perfect now.
That's good, because I never said that. Please make sure you read my post before you begin typing your reply in the future.
I will not say that everything is perfect with Linux. Nothing will ever be perfect. I said it is better. Give it another shot. If it doesn't work out of the box, there may some solution you gotta find (I would recommend ubuntuforums.org for support), but isn't that generally the case with computers anyway? Windows always sticks me in a catch-22 situation whenever I reinstall on this machine: The onboard network card is not recognized by XP, so I need to get the drivers from the site (because I forgot to back them up), yet I can't get to the site to get the drivers because I need the drivers to get to the site... I have yet to encounter any operating system where everything worked perfectly out of the box (I have not set up an OSX system on Apple hardware, I hear that's just about as perfect as can be), but things ARE getting better on all fronts. Give it another shot, do not let people tell you things are "perfect" because they are misguided fanboys, and don't go in expecting salvation.
Besides, like you said, that was a couple of years ago. Things have changed. Maybe it may still not work for you, maybe it will. We won't know until you try, will we?
When was the last time you used Linux? A couple of years ago? Things were baaaad with wireless then, sure, but now they're pretty nice. On par with Windows at least. Ubuntu detected and utilized both my wireless card (netgear) as well as the wireless cards in three of my friend's laptops (unsure what they are) without any problem or setup. Under Windows we all have to install manufacturer drivers (and the netgear ones are downright stupid).
KOTOR runs pretty flawlessy under the base wine configuration. =P The only problem I had was that the game decided that despite all my hard efforts of being evil, it was going to give me a thousand and some light side points near the end of the game so that it would be impossible for me to end on the dark side.
That should read: How do you detect if something is a blog?

You misspelled exacerbate.

Seems like an awful big hassle just to make a point about a web browser.
You say this, but would you do this? It is often easier to just put up with the browser bullshit instead of switching banks or finding a new service provider. I can't very well switch schools because my university doesn't support Opera for it's student portal, can I?
I believe I read on Kotaku that it's coming out in Fall of this year.
That's what you get for eating at an airport. In Chicago.
Did you study for class every waking hour that you did not actually spend in class while in college? Right. I thought so.
You never did have to, but if you did then the link that the grandparent posted would be illegal instead of being merely legal.
Oh, that is neat. I must have misread something somewhere. Glad to hear you PPC guys still get love from someone =P
Yes, you're begging me to try it again.
I begged? Please point out to me where I was begging.

Sprinkle a few

Didn't Apple just drop official PPC support too?
How long has Guitar Hero 2 been out on the Wii?
It can already be done with Guitar Hero 2 on the PS2. My brother has an entire ISO of GH2 filled with custom songs. It's really kinda neat.
What else? Magnets? Actually, that would be so bad... just as long as you don't keep your computers at floor level.
Because velcro looks silly.
